Which server has the old school ffxi feel?

When you create a new character it does list Selbina as the most populated server, or so it did several days ago.

well im surious because im a new player, well i was here for beta and the first week of the game then i stopped playing but now im back, and im wondering if i should leave besaid as there just seems to be nobody on there really....I get lonely ;(

To modz and setsua: There's 26 more minutes of maintenance time left. We're able to download the patch beforehand as a courtesy.

I was being serious also, it really does list Selbina as the most populated and Besaid is one of the top one's as well. I would highly and I mean HIGHLY suggest you stay away from the servers with only 1 chocobo. The 2 I tried was so dead that (like mentioned before) it was more or less like playing a single player open world rpg. I do see a ton of people on selbina but I don't see much general chat or public chat socializing much. Then again I have only been on it for a few days.

As for Besaid, I have heard from more than one person it is the unofficial RPG server and that people really get into the RPG roles and do a lot of role playing events.

I will personally give Selbina a longer try and seek out a social LS. This game is not FFXI nor is the whole social environment from what I can gather so far. I am sure that will change especially once 2.0 launches and def once the ps3 version comes out.

Yeah 99% of all socialization happens in linkshells or parties which can be really deceiving to a new player.

Marta you're not kidding. It really is VERY deceiving and can potentially scare off any new player's that is to lazy to ask on the forums or even give it a try. WoW some JERK (excuse the out burst) decided to make Modz Bismarck all of a sudden. Naturally I was the only Modz on Bismarck being their was no last name combos so it wouldn't make any sense for someone else to make that name unless they seen me post up earlier about probably making it. ugh I knew I shouldn't have posted thinking about doing it until I did. Kids I swear.

or does it go by the first name? Does it allow multiple first names but with different last?
