Discussing your 'unpopular' opinions

I hate Godbert and think he is an overrated walking meme that needs to just go back to the GSM Guild and concentrate on making jewellery rather than trying to paint himself as compassionate and philanthropic (he isn't - Gold Saucer is a sham that hassles the needy and is paid on the backs of the vulnerable, and he basically threw the Doman refugees out into the street without so much as an "I'm sorry" from him).

Funnily enough, I actually like Minfilia and Alphinaud and cannot understand the hatred the 'meta' has for them (although Minfilia's changed attire in ARR didn't help her sadly and just made her look like a bimbo).

The alamigo part of the expansion was ruined by Doma coming out of literal nowhere. They put more work into the eastern zones bosses and dungeons. Compare skalla and hells lid. alamigo got shafted, and I'd honestly rather they just went full on weeb on us and scrapped the dual region expacs rather than half heartedly trying to fitting it in.

I'm tired of Haurchefant ... I was sad when I finished 3.0, I did my share of fan arts and now I feel like this NPC is shoved down my throat all the time to the point of now being sick of him...

Crafting / Gathering should require reactive skills and finesse, by making minigames out of them(again), instead of them just being a puzzle people solve by looking up a rotation via Google.

Savage content should focus more on mechanics and less on DPS(Bardams Mettle, I'm looking at you). Also Savage content should add more randomness, to prevent fights from being learnable and encouraging reaction and adaptability.

I hate parsers too. They are the worst thing in the universe.

Chocobos are the second worst thing in the universe(is this unpopular? Not sure!).

I agree wholeheartedly with this, as Ala Mhigo has and seems to be a literal after thought when compared to the quality of writing the Othard portion of the expansion received. Doma should have been the third expansion, not muddying the second to the point that neither of them was given a chance to really shine.

Personally, I think that the game should not provide actual damage numbers but only health bars, à la Kingdom Hearts.

A smooth farm is a beautiful thing. It just amuses me when I've seen multiple complaints on how the content is not challenging enough, how the jobs are too powerful or too lacking and how the bad the general playerbase is and then anger over low scores and unsustainable pug farms. Are we really surprised? And you want to make this harder? L O L. I know that's not always the argument and there are legitimate concerns about some of the jobs but I'm sorry. Sometimes you can't have your cake and eat it too. What is really needed is better players. And well... the Mentor system is a whole different post (that I should have included with my original one :P)

That's certainly debatable since it discourages players from using certain jobs based on what is considered 'meta' for that role (or for the general party comp). As far as making people look at actual numbers and critique their job/performance and where it stands with others well... I suppose that is healthy. To an extent.

My only complaint is that people are using it to belittle my class and while I'm sure all the math is correct and it might even be true well... No one likes their main to be the target of ridicule--especially when it's a core developer issue that apparently can't be fixed no matter how well the class is played.

But you're right. It certainly doesn't matter in my case. ;)

I specifically mentioned this thread was to avoid the general ‘omg u suck’ attitude towards less popular opinions...and that’s literally what you’ve done. Your opinion is just as valid as everyone else’s and saying things like ‘those who have this opinion sucks’ makes it seem as if you’re intentionally being contrarian just to cause an argument.

If you want to discuss why you believe str should be a tanks main stat, the strength of healing or meta presence then by all means. But posting a statement with no justification for why you have this opinion (other than ‘those who disagree suck’) simply means you’ve wasted your own time
