My first bad experience with another player. :o

All this dilemma would end if SE remove those msq from thedaily roulettes. People shouldn't come with the excuse of them new players won't be able to do them cuz queue time will high rock. This way the new players will be forced to use PF and actually interact with their LS / FC.

Those all msq dungeons should be done or formed by the new players that way they can set the rules and people won't do something that will prevent them to enjoy those CS. Thebold players won't be getting the reward and better nor complain nor the new players will be told stuffs or prevent them from gaining exp or experience the walking thru in the dungeon cuz they stopped to watch the CS while others just went ahead.

An old player sbouldnt be forced to help strangers nor a new player shouldn't be forced to tolerate the. Bad attirude of another stranger.

Glad you think the populations are doing so well they can afford to lose new players at lvl 50 lol

I am not thinking we are doing that well. SE needs to falldown this much to notice their horrific mistake they did. If they dont do something about, SE will continue giving excuses with some in game contents.

This type of content is part of the customer experience and their game and service. It is this bad so this will show SE the numbers that they need to do something about it cuz it is not just new player complaining but old ones too

They have made a change. Not to the old content(SM and Prae), but to the new by not including so many cut scenes into the dungeons/trials other than at the beginning as you are entering, and the end when leaving.

Those two dungeons were a bad decision on their part to include the scenes in the middle of them, but they haven't made that same thing happen at all anymore. At most you have a 1min cut scene now.

SE won't fall down though. The vets will still be here as will many of the new players. Even if what you suggest happens. They will find other ways around it. The only reason it's an 'issue' right now is because its in DF and people playing through for the first time dont have the end game DF mentality of get it all done asap. They want to experience the whole game and rightfully so. All SE needs to do is add a warning box when accepting the quest that says something to the point of 'if you want to experience this as it should be then we suggest forming a party via the party finder. Otherwise, you can rewatch any missed cut scene in your inn room.'. That alone is telling the person it's their choice but don't whine if you have to go back and watch things after.

OP just laugh at the irony of them criticizing you at the end of the run. They can't take feedback or criticism so they waited til last min where they can escape. At the same time trying to give out harsh criticism. Hypocrisy at its best.

I disagree. The entire time I've played this game and also on my first run the consensus has appeared to be that new players may watch the cutscenes while others melt the mobs and bosses. Both MSQ dungeons can be 4 manned and the lack of 1 or 2 new players during fights is completely unnoticeable. The only exception is probably if they are both tanks or both healers. I have never, ever seen any new player having to skip cutscenes to make duty completion possible.

Except that new players have no indication in game that the story dungeons contain so many cutscenes, whereas experienced players do know that but choose to queue anyway. You can't expect someone to make a PF for the purpose of watching 45 minutes of cutscenes if that person doesn't even know there are cutscenes.

I guess I'm going to be the odd man out here. "Duty Roulette: Main Scenario" has only two dungeons in it (Castrum Meridianum and The Praetorium), correct? If so, then the fault rests with anyone queuing for this duty who is expecting a quick run that doesn't involve watching several cutscenes. If you're not looking to participate in the full experience for these dungeons, then why queue for either of them?

This widespread expectation that new players should be willing to sacrifice their story experience (in a Final Fantasy game!) by watching cutscenes outside of this story-dungeon adventure (rather than correctly woven throughout it) is utterly ridiculous. Why should new players have to sacrifice their adventure and spoil their storyline? So people can score some quick XP and poetic tomestones that are easily available everywhere else in this game? The heck with that - new players can only go to one place for this conclusion to their storyline - everyone else has the option of going almost anywhere else for XP and tomestones. Stop being selfish and taking over this particular pair of adventures in an sea of content available to you.

If you queue for these dungeons and are not expecting to take the time to wait through some cutscenes, then you are the one who has made the big mistake - not the new players. If it were up to me the cutscenes in these two dungeons would play out for everyone attending in their entirety, with no option to skip them. That would correct this problem on all fronts real quickly.

And queue times would be increased a million fold... You'd be lucky to get a pop... Because most players wouldn't do those dungeons if they were forced to watch cutscenes even if you offered them 10 billion gil and 450 of the weekly capped tomestone for doing it, as well as all the gear in the game and all the mounts and minions in the game.

Don't get me wrong, I agree the situation sucks, but the only reason those dungeons pop in the first place is because of veterans who speedrun them for the rewards.

What I think actually needs to happen is they be reworked to solo instances, but to keep the work lower, you have NPCs instead of players, to form the rest of the party. No queue needed, no speedruns to worry about, nothing.

Or, good 'ol GW times, a cutscene is skipped only when everyone skips that.
