This. All of this. There are tons of bad players that existed prior to the jump pots.... stop blaming the pots for lazy people who just won't learn their job, whether they level it the hard way or not.

I don't think this is a good idea. This would be bad for the game. Coming is as a new player and not being able to play current content with your friends for over a month (sometimes longer...) is a terrible plan for an ongoing business. No new subs = dead game = no game for you either.
I don't see this at all.Quote:
1- its killing the endgame and Duty Finder groups
I see exactly the same number of bad players and good players as there's always been.
I do see, however, that more people are blaming bad playing on 'being a fresh noob' instead of trying to help them out and improve the community.
I don't see this either.Quote:
2- Most noobs who buy it, dont stay for long, easy get easy go. they get to 70 in less than 5 days, get bored and stop subbing.
Most people who ramp up quickly enjoy playing with their friends in current content. The faster they get doing this, the faster they'll be hooked and the more likely they'll be to stick around.
Without a fast way to get there... there's no motivation to even start the grind to "one-day-some-day" play with friends in current content. You'll see a lot less new players. And, eventually, a dead game. History shows this with every other MMO that's ever existed.
They're trying to.Quote:
3- its an RPG, they should take the time and appreciate the game as we did, these people take it all for granted.
How did we all play? Didn't we all play current content with our friends? Why can't they do the same?
When were we all forced to play, alone, through old content no one else was doing, for months-on-end, before ever being able to play with our friends in current content?
I don't ever remember having to do that.
I think you're coming at this from a very wrong (and selfish) angle.
A lot more would never join if there was no fast way to start playing with your friends in current content.Quote:
4- stop being greedy this is not WOW, alot of us left WOW because of this level boost back in Cataclysm
No one joining = dead game = everyone leaves.
What was the excuse before the Jump potion? PotD? FATES? RMT Levelling? All have been true in the past. A bad player is bad player until that player is informed of being such and makes a commitment to not be one. Someone has to take the time to help that player get better. And, that player has to listen and commit learning. If that person does not listen, that person remains a bad player.
Was I always a good player? Nope!!! During my first run Sastasha I was a completely terrible player because I had only done single player stuff until then. A nice enough player took a few minutes to explain things to me. I did my part and tried to apply the imparted knowledge and improve. Complaining about jump potions is just the latest excuse for lazy people that do not know how to deal with bad players.
SE tried and failed to make a difference with the Hall of the Novice. It did not significantly reduce the number of bad players. Why? Because a bad player is bad player until the player desires not to be.
I don't care if you jump potion, POTD spam, FATE spam, etc. If you're willing to listen and try your best to improve, I got a lot of patience for you. I will do my best to be that encouraging voice (to help you overcome nerves with certain things), that supportive voice, that guiding voice. I'm not perfect myself, but I'll do my best to mentor people if they're willing to accept support.
I mean heck my mentor role has been known to extend to "that shoulder to cry on if you're feeling horrible because of a bad experience". I'm actually doing that right now with someone who has had a multitude of bad experiences. Finding out what happened, helping give them the tools to handle it better, and providing a reassuring voice.
If Im being honest I have actually not even noticed the people with jump potions maybe had one tank that didnt do horrible was alright that used a jump. But these potions havent effected me at all I half way forget they even exist.
I'm not sure why they didn't tie the potion jump to at least finishing Hall of the Novice.
One good way to balance out the "players not knowing what they're doing" is to let them pot jump to 60 but give them bonus XP for doing dungeons and such at the original level.
Yeah, they should level in mindless AOE fate train parties like the rest of us!
Some of the worst people I've seen in the game have thousands of hours logged. The time it takes to get to level cap is almost irrelevant. And while I don't like the idea of level boosts, most of the people I've seen using them are clearly on alt characters.
Thats not gonna happen, deal with it.
