Since we are all getting what we want...

To go back to the original post, I'm not sure if I would have convinced myself to spend such an exorbitant amount on a soundtrack CD if it didn't have some dumb in-game thing, but after that first one, I'm totally in. I don't personally care if they make the soundtrack minions available, though I can see why some people would.

Legacy stuff is different. But like, if they want to sell the onion knight gear from those early dumb solo leves, sure whatever. It's kind of ridiculous anyway. Besides, I'll always have my memories of requiring boar leather spetch (a level 30 craft, I think) to repair my useless level 1 items. You can't take those from me!

I think we mostly agree on that. I am not fond of them either.

I do get annoyed at the constant attack on the people who obtained the item and want the original agreement honored.

Like I said before, there are many exclusive items I don't have. I understand what was done, and like it or not, I can accept it and what that means.

To me, they seem like children throwing a temper tantrum until they get what they want. As soon as they got one thing, the Moogle attire, it was instantly, let's attack everything until we get it all! Maybe I shouldn't see it that way, but after seeing it over and over again, it becomes hard to not be jaded by it.

I don't agree with what SE did, but I'm not going to throw a fit over it.

If they intentionally left out the term "limited time" before exclusive. Then shame on them. That is fraud and people should be peeved about it. I don't think anyone who saw that thought it would be available at a later date or become fairly cheap and unlimited in quantity.

If that is true, then maybe I need to re-evaluate my dealings with Square Enix as a company. No, digital items in a video game are not that significant, but deliberately lying to your customers is. If they are being that deceptive with their products it may be time to walk away from them altogether and never look back. Which would suck since I have been a loyal customer of theirs since I was a child and have so many fond memories of them.

For USD it's pretty much a 33% discount over standard with the same features (14.99->9.99), that gets further reduced if you buy additional months. For example, a 90 day legacy subscription comes up to $26.97, about 8.99 a month for 8/40. This is still active.

It cost about $30 USD to get legacy back in 1.0. Don't know about £ though.

For Legacy players it's $9.99 a month. Not sure what the three month bundle is, but for a six month bundle it's around $48 (rounded up) or roughly $8.00 a month. And that's including the 8/40 character limits.

I did clarify to add in items directly tied to its story. Things like the Dalamud Horn and such should remain exclusive to 1.0 IMO. The Red Onion Helm does not meet that criteria, it was only a dungeon drop.

There are many 1.0 items that are still in the game, just changed up slightly. I don't have problems with those.

I try to see it from both perspectives. On the other side, some people just don't value exclusivity very highly. I can only speak for myself but I wouldn't even blink if/when they put the Yuna outfit on the mogstation. I suspect most people who asked for certain things to be made available fall into that vein more so than "I WANT NAO". That all said, I can appreciate those feeling a bit lied to because, well...

Yeah...

I did not see this, though I can somewhat guess how they'll spin things. It's only exclusive if you don't have those "bonus codes". Basically, the actually sell here is "it's free!" We'll just pretend you didn't pay for the stream itself. Please don't mind me spitballing here. Not defending Square Enix so much is picking at their PR ideas. I blame my work background showing through, xD

So what this means is, since I missed out on the recent fanfest stuff I'll eventually get it anyway?...In a way that's a bit sad only because I bought the stream, never got my items, had to dispute the charge and obviously never got the items still since I'm not allowed by my bank to buy off Clenng now....this slightly confuses me I guess.

I do as well, to a degree.

One of the exclusives I do not have is the Wind-up Dalamud. It is only one (1) of six (6) minions in the game I don't have. I'll never have it.

Would I be happy to have one? Sure, but there is a cost to that.

I am a Final Fantasy fan, I have been since I was a child.

Breaking exclusivity runs a risk of damaging the product attached to it. The risk and the damage vary based upon many things.

In the end, I love Final Fantasy as a franchise and FFXIV significantly more than my desire to obtain that missing item.

I totally get the frustration of wanting something and not being able to get it. I totally understand that it is a digital item that has no limits on its distribution except for the artificial limits placed upon on it by the distributor only to try and gain additional sales of a limited run of an unlimited item.
