No need to respond to him. He is a troll and only has one thing in his life that keeps him going on which would be to insult and try to anger people on forums... It is all he has... and the only way he can make himself feel bigger.
You sir Crunkjuice are a sad excuse for a human really you are... I'm not going to type it here but I'm having pleasant thoughts about what will happen to you when karma comes knocking on your door... it does not look pretty btw.

FFXIV - The hipster MMO.
I don't know if FFXIV v2.0 will be successful, but this game is buried so deep that until then it will remain poorly reviewed and will appeal only to the same niche gamer FFXI appealed to (some exceptions of course). FFXIV needs to conform to a lot of standards if they want to be financially successful with the game. Think about it.
SWTOR will not fail because it is Star Wars, and people want to play a Star Wars game. EA/Bioware tosses in a little treat here and there that is different (such as their weird battlegrounds, cool companion system, and F'ING LIGHTSABERS) all while keeping the basic structure of the game "standard". People won't care that there's cartoony graphics or easy to acquire loot or mounts or jump or addons or whatever because people will play it first because it's Star Wars, second because it's a MMO.
Square needs to apply this same mentality with v2.0. They need to conform to some standards that have been set by popular MMOs, such as a mount system (already done with chocobos, finally), casual group content, loot attainable by casuals (while still giving hardcores something), Auction House, basic UI functionality (such as LS management, better keybind support, search, less popups, etc), story driven quests with rewards to help one level, etc. The list goes on, and sadly of this list I'd say Square is only giving us one (mounts), possibly 2 (AH) before v2.0. They've acknowledged the UI and we've seen the prototype for the new one but who knows when that's coming. And as for quests, I don't think they've even acknowledged this as an issue whatsoever. I tried getting a friend to play and his first complaint was there are no bread crumb quests.
If SE listens to all the hipster fanboys that are trying to make this game a perfectly designed unique snowflake then I don't think it will be successful. If SE executes proper R&D (which I'm not sure if they even do at all >_>) and standardizes the game and accepts that some people may leave, but marketing will bring many new in, then I seriously believe this game will do just fine. Cross platform is huge and it gives SE access to an audience that no other MMO has tapped into yet. They have a chance, they just need to not blow it.
doesn't a room have to be below ground to be a basement?
