Why so toxic?

The way that the question is worded does not actually answer any of the OPs concerns regarding this community, and without any more explanation (as Texa pointed out - tone is hard through text) the question comes across as saying "Why don't you just leave if you don't like it?", when the obvious answer is that you can have concerns about one while also enjoying another.

Similarly, the tone of my post is not accusing nor putting down Texa, I said outright that the question is valid, but that my observation gave me a giggle at how the community comes across, and the irony that it has within this thread :)

Oh of course I never assumed you were putting them down don't worry . My response also wasn't trying to specifically call you out or anything like that (and I am sorry if it sounded that way for either of those).

In general I just felt like we make negative assumptions too often and I think people would be happier and in turn nicer if we avoided this mindset. Maybe I am just being naive though :/

But yeah I understand what you are saying, but we also have to remember what seems obvious to us might not be obvious to someone else so that might be why they ask questions.

Both just seem as toxic to me, reddit mainly gets downvoted like you said however and toxic posts here linger. This community is still leaps and bounds more positive than most from my experience :o

I agree my initial question was poorly phrased.

At the end of the day all you can do accept that stuff like that happens though and try to be a better person in the future. Every day that you are alive is a chance to learn something new and improve yourself.

Forums always seem to be more toxic than any place else. Specially if the forum thread is about something negative about the game, the toxic posts just flow.

Whenever there are gamers. There will be a toxic cesspool flowing around here and there. It's just a matter of how you deal with it.

Otherwise eh, you wan't a Toxic community? Go to OGPlanet. Their player base can't carry on a constructive debate without cursing at each other. (If you call "Well this content is bad because it's terrible." Constructive)

Reddit is way more lighthearted than the forums is. It mostly seems to be about entertaining, everyday fun things people do either in the game, or things inspired by the game. There is some discussion, but it's overridden by fan art and glamours,

The forums seem to be more about discussing the active development of the game, things that should be changed, added, removed, etc. Discussions on announcements and reveals as well.

Things a more serious here, so one's personal feelings are often laid on the table along with whatever they posted, making it easy for someone to feel apprehension, and even easier for someone who's simply posting a differing opinion to be misunderstood as hostile or offending.
