Square Enix: Please reconsider putting the Native American war bonnet attire in-game.

It is perfectly fine to stand up with minorities, and for them when they want it. Mind you, this is purely anecdotal, but so far today I've seen more Native Americans excited to have the representation than I have those who feel offended or slighted.

So you're saying that a person's ethnicity only matters when the OP takes issue with a person from "Group A" wearing something from the culture of "Group B" because a person from "Group A" is not part of "race/culture/religion/ect. of "Group B". That, in and of itself, is asking Person A what skin color they are in order to figure out if they can wear Group B's clothing. By the twelve, the Hypocrisy in your post is too damn high.

I beg you to go use the internet and check out as many resources as you can for why our characters having war bonnets is racist, instead of being insulting about it, get educated about it.

I hope we can dye it :)

While I'm here, anyone got a link / screenshot of the war bonnet? A quick google search doesn't show anything. I'm questioning its existence. :P

That comment looks like a puzzle right when it's dumped out of the box. I'm really not sure what is your asking me, so I am not positive my answer will even be in the ball park.
I am saying that if the OP is white,black,latino and he/she honestly feels that this is item racist or disrespectful, he/she does not have keep quit and wait for someone who is Native-American to happen to pass by, see it and say something.

I'm going to say people should be able to wear whatever they want, irl or in game. You can't claim ownership over a particular style and restrict who gets to wear it. Maybe a different tribe independently designs similar headgear somewhere else in the world and it has a different meaning to them.

What if I start a religion with round green hats which have purple stars on them, and I start telling people it is offensive for them for wear hats of this style unless they are members of this religion and have passed a test. Doesn't it sound silly?

If there was a tribe of Native Americans in the game, that you was sent on a quest to butcher for another faction, to acquire land and such, that would reward you with the chief's headdress... then yeah, this might be a severe case of get it out now.

But it isn't... it's an innocent, non-offensive and no-ill-will outfit for people of any race, creed and nationality to wear, for fun. Not to state they are a deserving, warranted heroic veteran of many a battle and deed, or to use as a racist or insensitive gesture. It's the equivalent of little kids wearing cowboy and indian outfits to play, sure, it ain't ultra sensitive toward what happened but it doesn't need to be, it's innocent and has no malevolent meaning.

There was a whole motif of this in XI with Mithra tribal wear, and race gear also.

What about actors playing roles in movies, other games involving this attire, cosplay, fancy dress etc?

:edit: Oh, and wouldn't this have to be an actual copy of an exact tribe and its very war wear and bonnet for this to actually be even remotely bad? That's rhetorical, I know the answer, do you, OP?

Comparison of similar instances is relevant to the discussion. You can't just come in here and say people aren't allowed to include that.
