I can see the allure in having something different. But some of the entries don't exactly look like tank gear, or rather, semi-conventional or even conventional tank gear. (Gobbue and frilly dress to be specific) So while I can appreciate the idea and want for something different, I do think some of these ideas are far-fetched even though there were no exact guidelines as to how the gear should have looked.

That Allagan one is really beautiful. :D But some of those sets dont even look like something a tank should wear in battle. Like the one with all the stars on it look more like a caster set. Lots of them also would be better to have as class free glamour set like the Gobbue one or the king one. Maybe one can hope and these will be put in the gold saucer as price since they look really well (just not as tank armor imo)

Design is not about drawing quality. Also, with JP, NA and EU having contests at the same time it made more sense to have one grand prize winner from each region. How do you know what the other entries look like? You can't say the JP players had better quality entries without seeing them all!

I have a need.

There's a lot of good looking gears there but honestly 80% are caster with plate boots or something that we would see being unlocked for all the jobs, instead of PLD/DRK/WAR exclusive. I can see a lot of those gears working for, let's say, Red Mage. But just a few of em give me a "tank" feeling.

There's far too much cloth in this to be considered Tank "armor". Way too many skirts and junk that won't properly be animated either. I'd rather not see any more stretched metal plates when I run. We have too many as it is.
