30 Minute Lockout for Leaving Roulette's isn't Working as Intended.

You mostly see them in 24 man content, especially as it ages. But you do run across them once in awhile. This would just be another toy for them to play with.

Also, to OP, were you not here before the 30 min was implemented? It is definitely working as intended, or did you honestly think the devs thought it would 100% solve the problem?

IMO the penalty isn't really sufficient. When it comes to the problematic instances (Steps of Faith, Aurum Vale, ARF, probably a couple others I'm forgetting) it is still very common to see people bail.

I had this thought before, and I think it is a pretty good one. There are some flaws, like if you don't log in for so long afterwards, it is dead content. But they are pretty minor. I think setting this for a week or two count down would be a good idea. Of course it would have to reset when roulettes roll over patches and the like.

Solution to this (and they could probably easily allow it to be this way):

Make it so that the "saved" dungeon resets with maintenance.

A solution to this problem may be a dynamic penalty based on the reason why you are leaving.
The Problem we have here is "more work for GMs".
You can leave anytme you like but you need to give a reason in a text box.
A GM will check and give a penalty of 5 minutes up to 3 hours...
An other problem is the reaction time of GMs, they need to check and that way you may wait in GM prison 5 minutes or longer before coming back to the real world :)

This would be a complete and utter waste of GM time. As if they don't have enough to do policing harassment complaints.

People would just figure out what gave the smallest penalty ("sick kid" etc) and write that every time.

There is an easy solution against the leavers.

Once you queue up and joined a roulette-dungeon, you have two choices now.

1. do dungeon, get roulette bonus, gg easy
2. you don't like the dungeon, leave it, get a penalty for 30min and lose the roulette bonus for that day.

means you can queue up for high roulette, and you don't like the "The Aetherochemical Research Facility", you can do it now and get the bonus.
Or leave, get penalty and no more bonus for high-roulette at this day.

easy peasy

Bail out of a roulette ? Lose your bonus for the day.

It's a reward if you accept to end in a completely random duty. Don't play by the rules, dont get the reward.

Then people would just disconnect/afk at the beginning of the dungeon till kicked. It doesn't solve anything.

When you quit a dungeon, you can still play the game, doing anything except from another duty.
If you AFK or disconnect, on top of losing time until your next useful duty, you'll also keep yourself from playing the game...and for what ? "Not losing time doing a duty" ?

Besides, if you stay inactive for too long, the game automatically kicks you, and that could count as "leaving a duty". And auto-running to stay active could be a wonderful testimony on how you're just an asshole to your group, who will have all the reason to report you while you're still in the duty.

I wonder how far people will go to purposely not playing the game ?

This could also have a detrimental affect on the nature of roulette also because if a person is punished that severely for leaving they will just do the dungeon that gives the most rewards that they like potentially killing off or making it very difficult to run the less desirable dungeons without a pre-made. Although I feel a pre-made group could solve this problem for both sides.
