do people hate tanking?

Correct. The healer would die, and it would be a wipe, at the fault of the dps. If they do it again, then they are purposely trying to disrupt the run.

It blows my mind that you say letting the dps die is frowned upon, but that letting the dps disrupt the run and possibly cause multiple wipes should be encouraged..

As a healer main, if I notice dps pulling and the tank doesn't try to grab the new mobs, I won't heal that Dps. When they die the mobs usually just go back to their original position.

Never said that the DPS picking up adds should be discouraged. I said that one person playing like a troll doesn't mean that you should play like an idiot in some meaningless effort to punish them. Just continue to do your job, and be a grown up about it.

People hate tanking because tanks can't deal any damage at all. Especially post nerf, when they replaced all the tanks weapons with colorful varieties of pool noodle toys. It's better to go as DPS.

Wrong role to bring out the huge numbers.

Tanks have huge weapons meant to do huge damage and we do sissy damage. And as a guy who plays DRK most of the time I feel like I have to rely on the healer more then the other tanks and rely on DPS to do most of the damage for me.

And it can be frustrating when you play a few DPS classes and seeing people making stupid mistakes.

Tanks are leader? No, they're slaves.

DPS main here, like pure main blm since I've started.

If I pull adds that the tank can't handle, this is my fault.

If (because for some reason whm's seem to draw a crapload more aggro now) my healers grab aggro, I'll try my hardest to pull anything off the healers before attacking anything else even if the tanks bishing about "hurr I r marked".

UNLESS I get the go ahead from both Tank and Healer, I won't pull anymore adds. And this is mainly why people dislike tanking, because 50% of the time when you're in a random party someones trying to rush, be it the healer or the dps.

i like to play as tank but i don't like many things with duty finder.

is not always bad have done it with good df partys but i am mainly smn so i have to learn tanks side,
many times i have got partys that want a speed run even if it is my first time as tank in that spesific dungeon i don't know if that boss have a 1-hitko or other hard hitting attacks or other dangers,
i am always a safe distant from bosses on dps.

the toxic players is the worst when they explode if i do mistakes i am not fully learned tank i get better after every mistake i do i am not a born tank i have to learn to tank but many don't care about that,
is not fun to get insults and cussing when i am trying enjoy the game.

i really want to main on paladin but that is why i don't dare to do that. i want to but with how df is so is not that always what happen

Even I main a tank, but if I'm using DF I'll probably be queuing as a healer. Since I know I won't slow down a faster paced tank.

Well said^ being a tank means = control. It requires trust, and most tankers are not sure how to react with strangers.. should I go fast or slow. Can they handle or I die etc..
