No clue, really. But honestly, its the parry. Tanks for some reason lose all of their ability to think rationally when faced with that stat, and can't muster anything but "ewwweparrry" or "lolrng" followed by *pass* and leaving the instance.

Basically they were all told that if they rolled anything other than "pass" on a thing with parry on it that they're bad and a horrible player, so they have to let shit drop to the floor and make unfunny jokes about how much they hate parry, almost competitively, to maintain a sense of self-esteem as a tank.

So, those people than ran mostly a full set of STR gear that had a good healer buddy that they trusted were wrong somehow. It's been said a million times, there's is a time and a place for everything and if someone only really did 4 mans then STR gear was a perfectly acceptable option.

The only thing I'm laughing about is that its gonna get solved in a week regardless. People will just grind out their VIT gear in a few days then move on to higher ilvl gear anyway.... so really they are ultimately saving time. There's always two ways to look at something.

For whatever reason this board in particular takes the term "less optimal" and makes it "if you use this then you're garbage".

It wouldn't hurt for them to buff parry back up though, rate would be optimal, but i'd take a buff to %blocked in conjunction with amount in the skill too.

You have got to get over yourself. The game is not that serious. Take a walk outside, enjoy the fresh air, look at the world around you and realize that this chip on your shoulder is really not that big a deal. Yes, there were people who let VIT drop to the floor - yet we also had people who didn't use STR at all, which was optimal for 2+ years. They're fixing the accessories though, you can let it go, it's okay, we're here for you.

I've been wearing STR/melds since forever ago. The reason i say the things that i do is because i empathize with players that choose to favor the other approach rather than alienate them. Your response sounds like you're pretending all of that alienation doesn't happen. You can defend one position without belittling the other. It just comes across as unnecessarily abrasive - yeah, the STR meta caused a bunch of inexperienced players to think that VIT was entirely useless, but that's less a fault of the players and more a fault of the developers. The game should've never came to this point, there were plenty of times before now to alleviate this and they didn't exactly help by making Alex Savage so tight on DPS and so loose on HPS and mitigation requirements. Thankfully they're fixing it now, so we won't have anyone being blissfully ignorant one way or the other, but in the meantime just leave the guys alone, yea?

Think about it this way: you can always switch to MNK or DRG if you can't quit the DPS addiction (*JOKE*).

I was a Vit tank in 2.x through fcob, switched to str tank in 3.x since that's the way things evolved. Because enmity scanned of damage, I found str tanking more fun ( more ability to use other combos, etc).

I like the concept of a Vit tank, but I'm glad I played a str tank while it was the meta, since I think it taught me a lot.

As for regearing is no big deal, as people say we'll have a new tier to start on, and even if you didn't already have some Vit great, we had ~3 weeks to get eso accessories.
