I dont understand why everyone here thinks that Garleans will become more aggresive just beacuse they may saw a mortal becoming a primal.


First, this is just speculation there is no prove that the garleans will care about it, maybe they knew about this maybe not. But there is simple no prove. Until I see something on the story that proves ortherwise, is better to stop saying that "garleans will become worste beacuse they saw Ysayle turning into primal shiva.

Second, as far as we saw on 3.0 cs Regula seemed to be far more interesting on getting the allagan secrets on Azys La rather than a ""big revelation"" about primals.


My apologies if what I said isnt related to the thread, but to many people are saing that Garleans will become more aggresive due to a small speculation on what we still have no evidence.

It's a lingering plot point from Version 1. Garlemald associates the primals with the beast tribes, primarily. They even offered to spare the city-states if they accepted imperial rule and took up arms against the tribes. Associating primals with the civilized races means to them that everyone in Eorzea is better swept under the genocide umbrella than not. In Version 1, people who had the Echo were given such a status by the Empire, because those who could speak the beastmen tongues were lumped in with them. Seeing a member of the civilized races summon a primal - not to mention summon it into themselves and control it - likely chances the Garlean perspective at least a liiittle.

But you are correct about Regula. We saw him right after the Shiva incident and he didn't seem to think this revelation was worth prioritizing.

Also to note, Emperor Solus was the one on the Anti-Primal/Beastman crusaid. Emperor Galvus on the other hand simply seems to be for the traditional "Storm the lands and take them by force" concept of conquest.

Being more akin to Allagan conquest, The Magitek would naturally be far more interesting than a primal. Especially one so easily defeated. (Discount ego boost for their flag ship)

They're running a genocidal campaign against all beast tribes to exterminate Primals. They don't care who was even responsible for the summoning, as shown when we were introduced to the Vanu Vanu; The Garleans were ready to exterminate the Zundu just because the Vundu summoned Bismarck. The Zundu even helped us put Bismarck down... The Garleans don't care though; Vanu Vanu summoned a Primal, all Vanu Vanu must die.

That is something I found odd when it came to our encounters with him, but then again... He is the Legate of the VIth Legion... Nael was Legate of the VIIth Legion, and he summoned Meteor, and had a few other Sephiroth moments... Stands to reason that Regula will do something similar and reference Final Fantasy VIs villain, more so since he is stationed next door to the Warring Triad, which were central to Final Fantasy VI... I'd predict that he has plans to "copy" Ysayle, following that revelation... 3.2 Fiend Trial, 3.3 Demon Trial, 3.4 Goddess Trial, what does that leave for 3.5? A Kefka Trial, with Regula being our stand in for the clown... Would actually make what Elidibus said on the Gerun Oracles a bit funny... "Our fates were ordained long ago, Archon. The Garleans are no exception. Nor the Triad.", inb4 the Gerun Oracles is just the script for Final Fantasy VI...

Even failing that, how do you process knowing that people can summon Primals? You can't very well kill all people... No, they need to learn more first... Queue someone reminding us that Gaius was studying the Echo, and queue "All Echo users must die!", which was something the Garleans touched on in 1.0 for all of 5 seconds...

Ignoring potential speculation, I can't even blame him for that. Azys Lla holds the secrets to sealing Primals, that is a priority. For all he knows (and for all we know), Ysayle (and Thordan, though Regula seemed to be in the dark about all that) were the only people capable of this summoning. If it was something we were capable of we'd have used it to wipe the floor with him, and we didn't. It was something to report, I'm sure, but certainly not a priority. "People can summon Primals somehow!" is not as important as securing the means to seal Primals. Get a means to beat your enemy, before making more... Or antagonizing old ones, rather...

I'd like to think that whole mini-trial we had with Regula was him testing us, if we could whip out a Primal, we'd have done so there. The fact that we didn't makes the revelation somewhat moot, at least for the time being. All he has to go on is that someone who is now dead could summon a Primal. If I had to guess, I'd say they'll be looking into it, and that potentially opens up the doors for Nero to storm back into the plot, since Nero might bare some fruits of Gaius' interest in the Echo.

It might be me but I never really saw Elidibus as Sympathetic. I saw him as an oily diplomat attempting to twist things to his agenda. Lahabrea was clearly a villain but with him I got a sense he was a true believer while Elidibus I just cant trust. Nothing about HW changed that for me. That was my sense of him from the beginning.

He seems sympathetic in 2.1 when he appeared then had.his few enigmatic "I know something you REALLY need to figure out", and now he's being a manipative dick. Any sympathy I may still have is riding on his actions in 3.2.

Really? The end of 2.55 left me with the opposite impression;

Lahabrea had his own schemes, while Elidibus was the true believe in Zodiark. Lahabrea commenting "by my will", with Elidibus correcting "by His will" was pretty telling. I got the sense that Lahabrea had his sights set higher, him and Elidibus are "of this world" after all, meaning they are potentially wild cards amongst the Ascians. Nabriales seemed like a true believer, set on being Zodiarks right hand, and I'd imagine the other Ascians are somewhat similar.

Given Lahabrea worked very much on having people summon Primals into themselves, I'm incline to think his end goal was just that; He would be Zodiark. Meanwhile Elidibus is more set on a true revival of Zodiark.

I still get a sense that Elidibus is an annoying little schemer when it comes to us, but as far as his peers go... Well, Lahabrea is the one who got a fellow Ascian to die working with him... Even the way Elidibus commented on that failure gives the impression that he wasn't really a part of it... I would expect at some point that Lahabrea will return to throw a wrench in the works. I can totally see him being Nidhoggs eye floater, until we weaken Nidhogg, then he does to Nidhogg what Nidhogg did to Estinein, and with two Celestial Dragons eyes he has the power to summon Zodiark unto himself. Given how Nabriales went after the staff fragment for its aether manipulating capabilities, I'd imagine these eyes are just as valuable to them... Could explain where Thordan I got his whole woefully stupid idea from...

So....where does the Cloud of Darkness and Scathach fit into all this...?

Side stories. Crystal Tower is locked up and the Void Gate closed "Permanently" and when we inevitably defeat Scathach and Diabolos then they'll be done too.

And, like The Coil, once Alexander's plot is done it will never be relevant again.

Most of the time, I do everything I can to make lore holistic and complete and get the full story down... Most of the time.

I suspect that Kaiser has the right of it here, though. A great number of "major threats" in the game are going to end up side story arcs that neither conflict with nor impact the main scenario. They exist to create a large breadth of content by filling in the finer details left out by the more general, long-term main story.
