Aether Current Locations

In the Churning Mis,t the flag for "Hide your Moogle" is wrong. It belongs next to the summoning stone on the ramp towards the Zenith Aetheryte.

Thank you for posting this, it's really helpful. Could you maybe add the numbers to the flags on the map? Would make looking for the ones I haven't done yet easier.

I think it'd be a good idea to eliminate aether currents entirely from the game. By the time to collect all the currents in one area, it's time to leave and go onto the next map where the process begins anew. It makes the unlocking of flying nearly pointless as you never use it when it'd be the most convenient.

Then there's Diadem, where collecting aether currents has always been nothing more than a chore.

The whole point of aether currents is to keep you from cheesing through the content of the area. It was designed on purpose to make you travel through the land then get flying for when you need to return to areas. Never was made to let you use it while doing the MS quests in the area.

Since the 3.3 patch, I think some of the current spots have moved, I was helping a friend before the patch and we got all his Cloud Sea and West Highlands, but now when doing the Forelands the currents were not in the spot shown above. Some updating may be needed now.

They're different in the Churning Mists too. They seemed to be mostly just off the path the MSQs take you.

Has anyone had issues with finding any of these? I'm in coerthas western highlands, at x25 y 27 and the aether current is not there. I do NOT have the compass, but I've found others so I don't know why it wouldn't be there for me. I've watched videos (multiple) and they all show the place it should be and I'm in that spot and it is not there. Is it because of the compass? Then why could I find others without a compass using the videos online?

The currents have indeed changed. I use to fly people for free to every current spot. I had all the locations memorized. Now I just tried it tonight and only one current in Sea of Clouds was the right one, the one right below the airships.

While helping him do the quests for the currents we ran into two of the world currents in new locations. It looks like most of the corrents have indeed been moved to be in or around where quests take you.
