lol Like i said earlier it can be changed. Stories can be changed with a simple twist. Nothing has to stay a certain way. *Cough* like a patch for instant that changes the battle system. Think outside the box !!!!!!!!

you know that they can't add flying mount unless they made ffxiv with that in mind right?
( in wow they destroy the whole old world just to add flying mount )

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they say they had plans to already remap all the areas anyways??? Stop it with this can't stuff people lol. There's NO! real reason why they can't add flying mounts and it be a dragon at that!

another thing
why do you thing they didn't add mount at the start of the game?
to waste time with travel = do you really think they will add it just like that?
( maybe after 1 or 2 years but not in 1.19)

also as I said they need to create the map with that in mind
( since they already start working on it and we don't know if they plan to add flying mount in future=... )

yeah i always thought we would never see choco's till ps3 launch ...it's like maws in ffxi or crystals, everything kinda worked in steps to be a journey at start, get maws take awhile, long runs threw lots of mobs and find way threw zone.... then easier, same with crystals. i think they just know they kept us waiting waaaaay to long and giving them to us, like the second retainer lol. gonna be very happy when i'm riding choco's and i can finish all my side quests that i to lazy to do right now cause all that i have left are ones waaaay to far a run an i'm lazy as crap.

Not that i hate flying mounts but in a game divided by zones with loading screens in between they would not work right. Unless they change the map once you start riding like in ffxi airship rides or maybe how secret of mana used to do it.

The only problem i have with it is the idea of lots of dragons cluttering the sky. I can imagine take off being a cutscene and then you gain control in an instanced area depicting you above the clouds looking down at the ground below. I'll admit it would be nice to have the freedom to roam the skies and find things up there that arent just the destination your heading to. Like sky pirates you can raid or hidden floaty sky islands etc
