The current system is horrid.
Sign me up if there was anything this game should of taken from 11 it was the search function.

This is a bad idea. I am against it.
It should be "Seek As Job" or "Seek As Class" with the ability to select multiple classes that you are seeking a party as. You should be able to switch your class to something else (like DoL or DoH classes or something to solo with) while you wait for an invite.
The OP wants something that was clearly broken from FFXI.
