Him saying that we have nothing to go on is completely inaccurate since we saw the price this morning before the site was taken down. Heck I went up at 6 this morning just so I wouldn't miss it.

Just checking the Twitter, I believe it there was truly a mistake in pricing SE would have mentioned it https://twitter.com/ff_xiv_en
In actuality, they said they are experiencing technical difficulties, which obviously was something to do with the immense traffic around 7am, causing the site to crash. They add new products to their store all the time, why would they suddenly make a mistake now? This isn't some small independent online store, it's a huge corporation.
Maybe we should use this thread to voice how we are unhappy about this mornings £130 price tag, rather than speculation on why the site is down. More attention this thread gets hopefully more chance the price might be changed from what was shown this morning.
Whatever the case, I'm not going to passively accept these overly inflated prices and would hope other UK fans would join me in getting our voices heard. I've shared this topic on various other gaming forums and would appreciate if others could share with any friends who play FFXIV.
You have no guarantee that the site was taken down because of the price being an error. I'm not saying your incorrect, but we won't know until they bring the site back up, you have to appreciate that people have concerns and are allowed to have an opinion. You telling people not to voice their concerns is completely backwards as we have every right to do so, especially after seeing the price with our own eyes.
It's very much to do with how much your currency is worth. See, the average income is higher, but each dollar doesn't stretch as far. In the UK, our pounds are worth more but in exchange we get less of them to spread around. Simple maths.
Which is one of the reasons why we have exchange rates to begin with. Essentially, it's like charging a US citizen $192 instead of the advertised $130. At least in terms of relative incomes.
Personally, if they're selling a copy for 130 euros, I'd buy that. You'll still save yourself almost 40 quid!
