that's basically what FFXIV is...it takes stuff from most other FF games, and makes an MMO from it.

So Cloud finally figured out how to manipulate the jenova cells inside him.
I think it might have something to do with the outfit fitting both the game's current aesthetic as well as probably flowing better with a lot of different armors.
Remember, Cloud's outfit from FFVII was purplish blue, while his advent children (and thus this) outfit is darker blue-to-black. In addition the only real difference i'm seeing after looking at a LOT of pictures is the skirt. It's not even completely like the Advent Children outfit since it doesn't have the sleeve he wore in that movie to cover up his geostigma symptoms.
And since the two outfits were similar to begin with, all it really has from the advent children outfit is the long skirt-thing. And we all know FFXIV's devs have a hard-on for skirts. Seriously, finding a piece of endgame "special" gear that doesn't involve some form of skirt, longcoat, etc. is next to impossible.
i was hoping we get the Cloud costume needed for the infiltration at Don Corneo's.

HAHA I thought this was a joke thread! I clicked on it, scrolled down and was like, "Oh wait, they're actually doing it." I'm glad it's a vet reward though. And not cash shop.
...oh, great. Every damn female's been a Lightning clone, now every damn male's gonna be a Cloud clone. Great job, SE. -_-
(Kudos to those who don't go with that flow.)
How about tossing in some originality too, instead of all the fanservice and rehashing? Huh? Can we have it? Please?
TECHNICALLY everyone's cloud.

Seems some people hate the fanservice that XIV likes to make use of, honestly I'm a huge fan of it and feel like this is what XI was missing.
And the buster Sword is already in the game so just adding his (non buster sword wielding outfit) fits some logic. But Gold Saucer looks like one gigiantic beaming heap of nostalgia and i'm gonna bathe in that shit till the cows come home. XIV I feel has done a good job of not getting to attached to one game and going forward it seems like more games will be used as inspiration.
Like the Dissidia series an MMO is perfect place to Celebrate the Final Fantasy series in all it's glory, bringing together fans of the old and the new.
