1, mostly done them all because it's another quest and another objective to accomplish, it's not like there's a lot of relevant progression stuff to do in this game so might as well try to complete everything. All have been pretty underwhelming and felt like a cheap cop out to try to keep old content in circulation so far.

2) I'm liking it so far, though I'm stuck in Aurum Vale and Tam-Tara Deepcroft Hard for Zodiac. Oh, and I hated materia melds >_<

Chimera and Hydra were neat when they were new. Hardmodes were a challenge at i55 & i60.
Zenith was a waiting game because Myth was locked (took 3 resets).
Collected my Atma within 24hrs of them being added to the game.
Animus was Mythflox Longspam and waiting hours for FATE.
Novus was easy but cost me 3 million.
Nexus makes me loathe Turn 4 & Garuda HM.

2) Progressing it and want go to the end! (but this is a limit)
I am on the 5th AnimusBook for my Main class (PLD) and I have 4 other relics waiting for me at Zennith, but the BS of the whole questline makes it obvious why people don't want to finish.
Each step should have been similar to getting the Relic, Dedicated Instances + some lore thrown in with minimal old content. We got running older content in an attempt to aid "new" players through it. Vets go into Speedrun/No cutscene mode and the new players get a bad impression of the playerbase.
Lets not even bring up Bad RNG and Gil sinks. Square Enix while yes are to blame for the crappy questchain the players are to blame as well. The content is implemented like this in order to; Keep older areas of the game populated, Slow players down so new content can be made with out mass groups of people being bored and give a very shallow reason to do fates.
Sadly there are better ways in which the Relic quest could have been handled.

1 I got mine and now I'm experimenting with colors. Glad you can dye it. I wonder if dyeing can affect future Glows since obviously this thing will glow in the future.

Been on my Novus for quite a while - tbh, atma back then did syphon most of my motivation to do it, but got it done anyway; animus was only painful because of the FATEs (again! except this time with 300% more waiting); now with Novus... materia is just way awful. Spiritbonding either takes way too long and then it's praying to RNGesus, or takes way too long because gets way too expensive way too fast. And in a fraction of this time, anyone can get an alternative i100 weapon and upgrade it to i110 - heck, not even one but several. It's just not worth it wasting all the time and energy on it anymore. Which is really sad considering what it's supposed to be (lore-wise). So I'm just somewhere between 2 and 3; there's simply neither fun nor challenge to it anymore.

1. on main class, 2. on secondary ones. I main healers, so I always keep both WHM and SCH with maxed relic asap (Novus times) just in case I had to switch around. I switched to SCH main in FCoB so I had my Nexus SCH progressed first and it's now Last Resot, doing a 2nd zodiac atm, probably for my BLM first as it's at Intense light, while my WHM one is at Distinct.

Kind of caught between two. I have sort of 'moved on' and gotten soldiery weapons mostly, but I also put in a LOT of hard work on my Paladin relic, and I'm (very) slowly working on it in the dim hopes that it's final form will at least have some kind of uniqueness besides looking different. It's a slim hope, but I feel I need to justify having spent so very very long working on this god-awful relic quest. Quitting now would be like admitting failure.
I hate the grind with a passion, and I loathe every single step after Zenith. I don't think the end justifies the means, and I don't think it'll be worth anything when it's done. But I'm no quitter, and by fair or foul I'll have it fully upgraded eventually just to say I've done it.

3. Stopped on the Nexus phase. I wasn't having fun and that was most likely going to wind up with me not feeling rewarded for the 'effort', so I figured "Why should I bother?" and went after the Diamond Rod. Dumping my Novus onto my Retainer and dropping all the Atma's and Alexandrites I had gathered into the abyss (deleted).

I'm currently on my one and only Animus weapon - Curtana/Holy Shield. I'm just taking it easy, just got my Animus last Sunday. I've already done about 31/75 Alexandrites.
In the future, if I'm bored enough. Maybe, just maybe...I might go for the other weapons. Books pretty much killed it for me though - I know I took a 2 months break from FF14 partially because of the books grind. I was on Book 3 when I took my 2 months break.
