1st set I spent 24 hrs in Horizon, and 8 in drybone. Everything else went REALLY fast. 2nd set, I spent a week in Sapsa trying to get Crabby atma...
Lowe La Noscea D:<
I started farming it the first day (switched zones every 1/2 hour for variety, but only doing about 4 zones at a time). 3 weeks later it was the last zone I had left. The worst is how my inventory would fill up and I would panic every time I did the Dodo fate.
I now cringe when I have to go there for hunts.
Atma of the bull and Atma of the Archer are not dropping for me. Three weeks of farming about 20hrs a week. Only two I need.
Okay I'm gonna tell a story here. When I started out with the Atma grind, my fist Atma was the Atma of the Bull. I don't know how I got it (Though I think seal grinding might have something to do with that). I sine gotten the Scorpion next, then worked on the maiden and Goat ones (accidentally getting the Lion while doing Kobold quests) gotten another Scorpion doing Amall'ja quests, so on and so forth until I finish with La Noscea and ironicly enought the last atma of my first set was the Ram (astrologically speaking, Aries comes before Taurus)
With my second set I decided to take it on a regonal basis stating with La Noscea, then the Black Shroud and finally Thanalan to bookend how the second set started. When I realized that after getting the Twins I had the Bull and the Scales left so I decied that for more bookending, wet for the Scales first meaning that my last atma for the second set (and thus for awhile until I get Thyrus) was the first atma for my first set.
How does this relate to this thread you ask? Well becuase at this point the Bull is the "That One Atma" of the second set. I grinded for the thing for most of the day and I still don't have it! But I haven't given up yet. I will tame that bull and use it's power for my Star Rod. I will have my cake and eat it too! This begam with the Bull and thush shall end with the Bull! (evil laughter)
The first time around, the two that had given me the most trouble were Atma of the Scorpion (Southern Thanalan) and Atma of the Water-Bearer (Upper La Noscea). =/
I'm unsure of how many FATES I had done (12 hours non-stop each) but when I obtained these final two (Water-Bearer being the last), safe to say I was bubbling with joy at an inappropriate time (midnight). =3
I recently began the second set of Atmas because while searching for Elite Marks, certain FATES were there and I was bored. =P
It's funny because the two that had given me the most trouble I found in 3-4 FATES. I've accumulated 4 Atmas like this. \^.^/
Funny how RNG works. It knows when you want something so it doesn't give it to you. xD
The atma that took me the longest I swear was Eastern Thanalan. I don't even know how many times I did those Attack on Highbridge fates.
East Shroud was by far the longest for me. I knew every FATE by name before that was over (man was I excited to see Enmity of my Enemy on my first -- I think-- animus book...). Second place went to Lower La Noscea. I think ES was like 30 hours (hard to say because I did FATES with beast tribe quests) and LLN was like 15 hours of pure FATE farming. As it happens, I got Western La Noscea while doing the main scenario quests just after the whole atma system was released (not even trying) and then got another one later while doing beast tribe quests.
None.
I got 3 in my retainer and for paladin it took me 2 days to get them all.
For my dragoon I got them in 3 days. I follow my own thing I wrote on paper.
Though if I have to pick a place that took me the longest by hours.
outer la noscea for paladin.
middle la noscea for dragoon
The north shroud one, I swear I accrued 400 fates for that! Possibly more!
