Cue the problems of release. It's an issue of "he started it". FF14 was casual/solo emphasis the led to people /ragequit. Now it swings other way, so it's /ragequit.

You can't have both. It's how it is. For every group balance and group content, casuals/solo will have to suffer. That's all there is to it.

Esiah, no you shouldn't be able to play in a way that suits your lifestyle. There should be forced grouping so that people without good LSes will quit the game, because people with good LSes are too good for pickup groups.

I am a solo player. I only play Mrd so I cannot comment on the situation with mages. For DDs there are pros and con to this patch. I performed 6 regional battle quests at Bold Knoll and Iron Lake. As a lvl 45 I received more SP then I did prior to the patch, Problem is now I am limited to only 6 quests unless I am willing to go to another area for the other 2. Until there are alternate forms of transportation available I am not. I have already burned too much Anima just doing those and the initial company quest. SO now things are even.
After getting comfortable with Auto-Target I found it more efficient then the previous system. Acc have become more realistic.

Group play should always be more rewarding then solo play. A mob that takes 5 ppl to kill is far more stronger and challenging then a mob that 1 person can kill at the same lvl. I for one enjoy both formats. It all depends on my mood on the day.

My stance is on those ppl not understanding why soloers play mmos and using the word multiplayer. Sorry but i started my mmo days with The Realm and then UO. The time before everquest came and introduced group play. In those games it was mostly solo play. Yes you could hang out with friends and kill shit together but there was no group /invite. Farming and lvling even in those days were all done solo. It was quicker and the shit you recieved as loot was all yours.

And as i stated above, even multiplayer fps games you can run around by yourself and kill ppl by yourself without having teammates around you. A sniper would be shit if he had his teammates standing over the top of you giving away your location. A sniper would find a nice secluded spot and pick off his targets.

Multiplayer does not mean group. It means multiple players playing on the same server. Massive Multiplayer just means thousands more on a server.

I'm hoping with some more practice it works out better, although I think some of the recast timers still need to be chopped down a lot. 1:00 for the Heavy Thrust and Full Thrust are my biggest complaints atm, and some other changes seem like they might be neat but I haven't explored enough as of yet.

As long as I can still log in whenever and feel like I can get stuff done I'll be ok. That was my favorite part of FFXIV. You don't get a schedule with kids. They poop when they poop.

Am i missing something my Pug 24 is soloing 30-33 easily? Also who's forcing you leves give good xp and if you want to be anti-social and not group play at all maybe you should quit.

Why your opinion is backwards and irrational. Forced partying pigeonholes gameplay into one style. For some reason, some players in these games seem to equate time with challenge. Artificial roadblocks that equate to time as difficult.
This is not 2001 where you have at the most 500,000 players playing graphical MMORPGs. The market is larger, there are quite a few more customers in the market searching for something rational and attainable as a form of entertainment in their free time.

Some people work, and then come home and have families to take care of. Some of these people don't dump all the duties on their spouse(see: not a lazy slob). These people, the average human being, would enjoy to have a form of progression that allows them to enjoy some entertainment in shorter sessions. If to play FFXIV I have to form a group to do just about anything(not saying this is how it is yet, as I haven't experienced the new patch enough), that's time out of my short play session and on top of that unfair to those I form a group with when I must inform them of my departure within 30 minutes of beginning.

P.S. EQ was a bad game.
P.P.S. FFXI was a bad game, and you should feel bad for liking it.

I think having those zero point skills is already more then enough. Unless your bar is stacked with buffs, there's more the enough skills to play with without idling.

The TP generation on solo is way generous as it is.

Considering you're suppose to be using those idle moments to BR (or BR successor, whenever that happens).

Getting 1000 TP or 2000 TP is like less then 10 seconds, and with those amounts you're more likely to rape your opponent unless you're fighting way over level and missing.

The acc buff to the new system is already more then generous enough to be effective. The zero point skill attacks are just cream on the pie.

Do you play a Marauder with less than 100 DEX (at rank 30)?

I do. It misses. Less than before, maybe, but it still misses, even on mobs just 10 ranks above me (which, I might point out, are quite easy to fight with the patch, needing very little healing compared to before).

TP generation sucks, even on my gladiator. Sucks even more when you use skills and it resets the auto attack timer.. and then distance latency causes it to not go off for 5 seconds! Maybe longer!

I figured auto attack would negate the latency problem since it'd be happening on the server, but nope. Quite frustrating when I see myself standing there doing nothing for 3x longer than my weapon delay after using some skills.

I've had a lot of luck and success with my THM after the update, more so I'm able to hit harder, and use my other abilities. THM got the nerf it was needing, but it can still be used to solo, I haven't run into any issues yet.
