Shaming is not what's happening here, everyone in this thread is fine with the most skimpy sets in this game because they're equally skimpy on the male-bodied.

It's only a problem if the ladies have no choice but to tank in their panties and the gentlemen have no alternative but to be prudishly covered.

Well I can tell no one posting is a stylist. Did u know that u can have attractive feminine armors that don't show loads of skin? Did u know that equality in armor doesn't have to be a tin can or a burlap sack covering ur face? I have a feeling what people actually desire is better looking armors. When designers make pants for men or for women, they don't make the women's pants shorts or panties.

Did you know that it's not always about showing skin when someone asks to see more 'feminine' design?

Ok i think you need to actually expand ur snarky post to clarify. If i feel feminine armors don't have to show loads of skin, what are u talking about? I mentioned the skin because it seemed most posters were concerned feminine armor had to be the usual chain mail thongs.

And yet the OP wasn't even specifically talking about that - The people that say "chain mail thongs" are talking about the overplayed "sexy" armor in MMOs, not so much what they were requesting.

Never thought I'd see so many people against having more feminine armors ingame and prefer most of the potato sack armor we have currently. There is such an option of having gear that caters to the female form without being overly sexual or showing too much skin. The picture someone posted earlier of the Knights from FF Tactics displays this clearly. If we were to have that armor in this game for example, everyone would default to wearing the male Knight's armor.

Even most every other FF game that has Jobs, the armor looks different and conforms to each gender (from FFIII to FFV to Tactics to Bravely Default). I understand why SE doesn't necessarily do this for this game since just making everyone wear the same thing saves quite a lot of dev time.

Using Tera as an example (I know, one of the resident kings of bikini chainmail in MMOland), it managed to have some heavy plate armor that didn't show any skin for the females but was feminine compared to the males (granted it's only one, but the Castanic race is the more sexualized, both male and female, of all the races in that game).
Note: Armor in that game looks different for every single race and gender.

I don't have a need, or desire, to see super contrasting gendered-clothing options to be comfortable in my presentation. I'd actually love all options to be open to all genders, so everybody is catered to, not just the "contrast is cool" crowd. Stereotypes and norms says you'll see much of your contrast anyway (it'll be popular, dominant), but no reason to forbid people who prefer other things from doing their thing.

Mu character is a hero and don't need to look feminine or sexy while defending Eorzea, so no ty!

Armor is made for battle, not for being a beautiful peacock. Much of the gear does allready have variances based on gender they are very subtle but are there.
