1 click Turn 2 strat broken?

It's not cheap it a clever way of doing something. It's like being at work and someone figured out a way to do something faster and easier to get the job done so you can get off early. Are they also cheap? Or are you a white Knight and tell that person you must do it the harder slower way because that's the way it was intended? I know personally I would be home quicker so I get more ff pew pew in

It could also be akin to finding loopholes in policies and such, which isn't always looked well upon... and in cases of tax evasion and the like is actually portrayed in a very poor light. Just because something technically "follows the rules" doesn't always make it right, or smarter.

I don't see anyone in this thread telling people how they should do Turn 2, or that they're bad people for wanting to cut time off. All I see is people saying that doing something that disables all of a bosses mechanics (or even mob mechanics) is a cheap thing to do. It would be like recognizing the guild that downed Twintania using in game bugs as the actual world first downing of the boss, and I don't think that's appropriate.

I'm not going to look down on anyone that clears it that way. Both groups in our FC that run Coil have done it that way as well, but I'm also not going to sit here and pretend that it's something it isn't, and I'm not going to be at all surprised when SE fixes it because it's the only strategy people use anymore. Just like they fixed AK (both for speed running, and the first boss), just like they fixed Titan, Twintania, and Dark Devices. I'm also not going to laugh when they do it.. cause quite frankly I don't care. It doesn't effect my game play (well, aside from the occasional pug that claims to have lots of Turn 2 experience but then turns out to only know the enrage).

If Square wishes to they could easily change the enrage to an autokill, or make any kind of adjustment to the fight to fix it. Seeing as how we've seen multiple patches since this has been discovered its safe to say that this isn't on Square's urgent exploit list like the other exploits that were patched in the past (Twintania, Titan, Chimera, Hydra).

Til then, players are free to complete this fight any way they want. Confident experienced groups do not want to waste 7 minutes waiting for clicks to count down, whereas new groups have the option to 3heal it for easy loot, so to each their own.

ok whats the difference between doing turn 2 enrage mode or SPEED RUNNING wp? people speed run WP to be lazy and to not have to kill mobs that give gil and spiritbond. thats cheap enrage lets u pass a boss easier to get gear. if people couldnt pass turn 2 to get the gear noone would take them into turn 4.

Its mainly all on the WHM and how they time the heals and if they have enough mana. Even easier if you have 2 WHM and alternate heals.

i went with a PUG this week and they did it this way and that + all the party finders i see saying "1 click strat" is why i made this post.. i mean this PUG even tried to being 3 healers because they had 1 tank.. i said if you really want an extra job bring an extra DPS, if the healers (me being one of them) arent competent enough to heal through his enrage then they need a little more practise and probably shouldnt be healing in coil

I don't see what makes a WHM better at this? with a SCHs succor you get 3 things happening:

1- initial heal, around 350 at iLv 80
2- shield for the same amount, making that heal worth 700
3- Crits, which you see alot of, for 560ish which then shields for 1120 for a maximum of 1680 negated

i wouldn't discourage people from taking SCHs now in this already laughable strat

I admit I haven't read the entire thread, but this is my stance about it all;

It's another strategy, perhaps easier, perhaps harder but for a lot of groups it works.
As long as SE doesn't say "You will be banned for using this strategy" people will keep using this strategy.
Which I don't see happening, I do think this will be "fixed" in the future, but I also expect SE to make the Allagan rot mechanic a bit more forgiving to go along with that.

all i get from the op is that someone took a really long time to figure out t2 and is now mad that someone else found another way to do it more efficiently

I do not think it means what you think it means.

I say buff the pulse damage to make it a "gear" check mechanic at least. My group has never and will never do this "strat"(if you can even call it that) because overall I find it to be broken.
