It seems like an awesome idea, but I'm still looking for some support of the keyboard only functionality. I may consider it, but I don't want to have to buy an extra peripheral for something that was included in 1.0.

I'm confused as to what exactly can't be solved with adjusting keybinds. What features of XI are missing, exactly? I'm not being facetious, I really want to know if there is something in the default XI controls that cannot be keybound in this game, or if people are just too lazy to look up the XI control scheme and copy it themselves and would rather just bug SE for a preset.
Several people in this thread have said they are able to play with keyboard only already, what is this "support" that is lacking?
Navigationally, the menu, some abilities, and the manner in which you can manipulate your camera view are not similar to ffxi or 1.0 when it comes to keyboard only.
Well... You can use the gamepad-style "Pause" menu, which I quite like. Ground targeting is going to be awkward no matter what, but it's not too bad with a controller once you get used to it, and I assume keyboard is similar (if I can aim Sacred Soil on ADS while dodging lasers using a controller, I'm sure someone can with only a keyboard as well). Were there even ground-targeted abilities in XI or 1.0? Seriously, I don't remember. And as far as I'm aware, the camera control buttons can be remapped, and the only complaint I have about them is the lack of on-the-fly centering adjustment (sometimes I would like the camera to NOT be centered directly on my character at a fixed height), which is a problem with the game design and not the input method, since you can't do this with a mouse either.
only thing with camera controls XI had that XIV doesn't(or atleast I cant find the option for) is the chase cam option, other than that this game has far superior controls on both the keyboard/mouse and game controller.
