The fact is though that difference of playstyle is an official stance that does include not DPSing as healers. This is an example of the poor management that the game is under. Contradictory points that are literally left up to the players to decide when to be a douche that's in the right. Yoshi-P says it's not mandatory... an authority figure when it comes to the game... yet he tends to leave it to the players to make decisions that management should be better informed on. Remember when win-trading was a problem? Time to remain with the same easily abused system, but be sure to put your foot down and tell players "please don't do this".

That said, because difference of playstyle is so vague, the opposite is also true in that it seems you can kick healers for DPSing. I'd imagine they're supposed to be unbiased, meaning it's a two-way street on every call. Unlikely to be used as often for that reason, but I'd imagine it's still a thing. I'd call it stupid if that happened, but I say the same thing about being able to kick healers for non-disruptive play (i.e. it doesn't prevent you from completing something). I'd just hope for those who are for the ability to kick for non-DPS healers in any situation, that they don't get angry if someone did the same in the opposite situation.

I know this has probably been said a lot, but...

If all you do is heal, how on earth do you not get bored to tears?

I mean, as a tank, I routinely stance dance (with optimal cd useage of course) and even then the healers I run with regularly need to heal me like... after a tankbuster, maybe. For a really big pull, perhaps once HG falls off? Like, even in Baelsar's Wall once that one reeeeeally tough pull is over (during which I assist, with cover + DV + HG and yes, clemency if I absolutely must) the only big healing requirements are during bosses or if your dps are lagging/like to eat AoEs.

Like... I once solo healed 12n as a very undergeared ast and still had time to throw out some dps. What do you DO with your time? Dance?

This argument is getting tiresome. It's less about whether healer dps is optional or not and more about are you, the player doing everything you possibly can to contribute to the group. The only possible way for them to design this game to where there is zero expectation for healers to dps is to make it so damage done by trash and bosses is more heavy and consistent so that healers won't have time to dps. As long as the game continues with the design of how damage is currently taken, people will be expecting you to contribute outside of healing.

Nah, there will eventually be times when people overgear and become able to DPS.

The only way to stop the DPS meta is to take away the DPS spells, or make them so ineffective they become a trap choice.

Healer DPS Camp:
+ Gets the ability to kick healers who only heal and not DPS.
- Must accept that it is not mandatory for healers to DPS and thus their vote kicks may not always go through ...

Booting them out is actually a great thing to do rather than argue with these lazy leechers in these forums. It\\\\\\\\'s a great way of telling them that their lazy playstyle needs tweaking. Some effort from the healer\\\\\\\\'s side is recommend and makes dungeon runs fair for the other 3, as been said hundred of times.

People like you use the word "optionnal" as an excuse to be lazy. To be carried. To do three to four times less work than the other members of the group.
Not doing jack in your group is worthy of a kick. Get that right in your head.

If you think that doing the bare minimum is fine, then be ready to have a surprise when other people think it's not.

But keep insulting everyone of being "idiots" and "morons" if you want. I mean, that's pretty much the only thing you can do anyway.
