Pretty much.
15% and no heals is when I hit my invuln, and keep going. Usually I get trickles from instants and it's only really a problem when the dps is low
I don't wait til I'm low hp to pop cds once a pull settles down I pop them throughout burning the pack down. The healer in the Doma run was making me pop them all right as I stopped pulling cause my hp would dip that low and stay there. I know it wasn't my gear as I was in lv80+ gear in a lv67 dungeon. I shouldn't be needing to pop everything the instant I stop pulling on every pull.
It's kinda funny as someone who never downsyncs, the last time I cast a heal on the GCD in a dungeon was... December.
Ah my role, my role.
Alrighty! Had to be clear because many newer tanks do that ;P Many apologies again, English is pain in the fricken booty.
I know I let tanks get very very low to bait out invuln especially if I am White Mage with Dark Knight because who does not wish to Bene living dead? If healer was actually not healing (which is silly.. why queue as this) then would have spoken with them or attempted kicking. Tis not cool. Suppose it depends on the healer of choice too, if Sage I heal at half for max value if Astro or White Mage I play chicken allllll day long. Less now that ED has full potency at 30%. Either way, wish you best of the luck with healers in future times! I promise we are not all jerks!
!!! Contains Endwalker spoilers !!!
This was the Antiscope.
I think I was in a premade of 3? A DPS asked me to protect the tank with my big arms (I'm guessing it's because I was the only Hrothgar in a group of female lalas / miqotes?), which was kind of funny since I thought it should be the tank protecting the rest of us. I kept them alive without an issue until The Final Boss. They ate some spicy AoEs, but there's no problem with deaths since I can just heal them back up... up until the boss starts his Curtain Call and both the tank and DPS refused to stay behind the pillar and instantly died from it. I swift casted the tank while the remaining DPS raised the other DPS. I was #1 on aggro list so I ended up tanking the boss while waiting for the tank to provoke off me. The provoke never came, so I ended up tanking the boss for a solid 2 minutes after. I guess I protected them after all?
If I had a nickel for every gladiator I've seen in Expert, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice.
Only major problem I tend to run into aside DPS running from us with stack markers or running TO us with AoE markers is when tanks don't provoke or pull the boss off of me (the healer) or the top DPS when things go pear shaped.
Especially so in 8man content. If the main tank was dropped, the off tank doesn't provoke the boss, and we have a weird Scooby-Doo chase scene where the boss hounds a DPS or healer around the ring while the offtank keeps using attack combos without their stance on, acting as if it's normal that the DNC is now tanking the big demon guy..
