Either SMN and RDM should lose their Raise or BLM should get a Raise.

They don't seem to be interested in adding more difficulty to classes, that was part of 4.0; making jobs simpler. This, and "closing the gap" between casual players and "elite" players. So with this in mind, making jobs "harder" would not be something I'd hold my breath for.


Now, making FIGHTS harder, they might do. In the interview with the world first Unending Coil group, they explicitly said they'd rather "see a shorter fight but with tougher mechanics" than a "longer" one (referring to the 18 minute long fight as too long, basically). I alluded to this a few pages ago; since there has been a paradigm shift toward recovery/resource abundance in 4.0 vs how it was in previous expansions where Paean and Ballad cost the BRD MP and there was very limited access to Raise (not to mention weakness was more difficult to deal with), it follows that perhaps upon understanding the value placed on recovery by the playerbase the development team really might be inclined to give BLM an option.



This is another reason that I think it makes more sense for them to implement a Raise function on BLM rather than remove it from RDM/SMN.

Oh please shut up already about this. Any BLM that thinks they should also get a raise should all grow the hell up. Seriously it makes you look like a salty entitled and pampered little kid who wants something just because the other kid got it.

No BLM shouldn't get a raise, because it's not something black magick is supposed to do, it's not the theme of the job at all. It's supposed to blow things up period. RDM get a raise because it's the whole theme of the job, being able to use both WHITE and black magicks, its supposed to be the versatile job. BLM on the other hand are supposed to be walking bomb dispensers, not ANOTHER versatile job... And as far as balance go, its not like RDM is outpeforming BLM at all on the dps side so....

Really, stop being pamepered and entitled and accept it already -.-

instead if giving blm rez => give blm a "special trait", that automatically lets the 1st rez of each healer in the comp be instant and cost no mp (but it costs the blm a bit of hp each time)... and let the special trait reset every 3 or 4 min...

that way blm dont lose dps but can contribute a rez indirectly (and it can still fit in lore-wise as an art "sacrificial trait" ; a bit of hp for a rez... a new form if convert)

also that way each healer will rez once each, not making one healer have to do the 1st 2 rez alone

just if both healer are down, its bad luck... on the other hand, there is no dps lose, when healer use the "blm" rez (a compromise..., "best" caster rez is still with rdm, "worst" rez with blm, but with no dps lose and still a rez utility... and "middle" rez with smn, or should be.. when blm get a slight dps buff)

such a scenario could work for blm if all casters need rez, but doubt such will ever happen (would be cool though in a way)

Fact is that SMN could be atm considered best ress since they don't lose as much when they long raise

rdm rez still OP, ... smn still need to give up a swifcast (once used, cant use any for 1 min), but smn do such high dps atm, theyre close 2nd (and true, long rez isnt as bad for smn, only used if both healer are down)

Then Summoner shouldn't have it without using Pheonix or another similar supportive Egi/demi-summon, because Summoner historically has never had Raise as a baseline spell. That's how it's supposed to be.

Red Mage shouldn't have versions of Flare or Holy because Red Mage has historically not had access to the strongest spells of Black and White magic and their melee attacks should be based on strength, because -that's how it's supposed to be-

There's a lot of !@#% in FF14 that in precedence doesn't usually happen in this game.

I'm referring to what Llugen said on what happened on nael where he used 4 raise (2 Swift 2 slow cast) total during nael phase and still kept his first place on dmg,
Also they don't need to give up anything there's not much else you can really do with swiftcast nowadays and even so 75% of their dps comes from passive sources and as for MP goes it's not as heavy hence why probably when you consider everything they could be considered the strongest ones even though RDM can raise faster than them they are hardlocked on their MP pool
