Kind of sounds like you got an "artist" former known as DPS masquerading as Healer. Have to love the smugness of him though, eh?
We had I joined a Void Ark in progress the other night with a White Mage that didn't use a single AOE spell at all- mostly Cure 1 and an occasional Cure 2. We were at Cuchulain ;w;
Heaven help you if you even got a single stack of poison; neither healer was keen to clean it. It was essentially a race against our alliance's inevitable death.
>dps
>tank and other dps get into a fight about stealing aggro
>healer butts in as well
>i stay quiet and do my job
>get all three commendations at the end because i was the only one who kept my mouth shut
I love you duty finder
I only queue for Void Ark with my best friend and SCH co-healer, and as a WHM, we make a great synchro (when I'm DPSing, he's healing, when I'm healing, he's DPSing, we rarely Esuna the same person and also rarely use our OGC on the same target and so on) and it surprises me every time to see all the other alliances getting nearly killed (whole party with less than 30% HP with dead people) while our alliance sits comfortably at 80-90% HP even when our tank is MT.
What's the reason for this?
One of my FC mates needed to run Chrystalis. We were able to get 6 of us to do it. We tried unsync'd, but couldn't get through it. So we went ahead and signed up for DF. We wiped once, but we got through it the second time. However, before starting the 2nd run, one of the people were kind of being an a$$. So when we finished it, we realized we were all going to give it to the other guy. We were all on skype together like, "man, this guy is gonna think he was the best monk ever".
Today I queued as PLD for Titan HM because I'm currently doing all my old relic quests for the titles :)
I was not exactly looking forward to it because it's been way too long since I played PLD, I never tanked Titan before and I generally have bad memories from that fight xD
So when we started, I was happy to see that the other PLD tank was slightly better geared and ready to MT.
Fight started and right away we lost half of our dps players to "The Fall" Healers never despelled the dmg- debuff everyone got who was in stone prison once, so the fight dragged on and we barely managed to finish the heart phase on time.
Then the healers started dying, one at a time, raising the other, dying too, other got up, cast raise, died again and so on, until at about 30% of Titan's HP, both were dead, as well as both other dps.
From then on, the other PLD and me tried to hang onto life desperately. He blew all his cooldowns while I kept healing him/dpsing, when his CDs ran out I switched to Shield Oath and he to Sword Oath and we switched positions while my CDs lasted.
At 3% that great PLD was dead, I had like 200 HP left and threw out Hallowed Ground, hoping to SOMEHOW deal enough dmg in those last 10 seconds to down him. Just as HG fell off, Titan died.
It felt so epic! ÔxÔ
And got lots of commendations too.
That's awesome! congrats on that run!
And I actually have a positive story as well!
Did roulette with my PLD yesterday for dungeon. Got Haukke manor. I asked if the team was good for speed run since no one was new, but they actually said no because they wanted to maximize xp. I realized then that no one but me was lvl sync'd. But didn't bother me as they all said they are just lvling alts and knew what they were doing.
I have never had a smoother run in my life. It was stunningly beautiful. Was with a conjurer, thurmatage, and monk.
The conjurer and thurmatage were obviously friends and in a party together, so their teamwork was fantastic. On every pull, they always put the other enemies to sleep so we could just focus fire on 1 at a time with minimal incoming dmg on me (meaning even conjurer was contributing a lot of dps and we were dropping enemies very quick). The thurmatage was only using single target attacks to avoid waking the sleeping enemies. The monk was always using positioning combos (i've unfortunately seen a lot who just ignore positioning). My hp never went below half except for the last fight (in which i wasn't in any danger as we were just pushing the boss down at the last like, 5%). Not to toot my own horn, but I think I was doing an amazing job as well. Not a single enemy AoE went off (aside from the last boss) because I didn't have to worry about keeping aggro that much, and could use shield bash without too much worry. We cleared the dungeon super quick. All of us were so happy with each other. The compliments were flying everywhere in the chat. It was a very nice change of pace in DF for me.
Let's see...
Being told I should know Syrcus Tower less than 24 hours after it being added...
Only managing to get to the final boss in Toto-rak because the two NEW ACNs kept mobs off me, followed by the tank charging into the boss room while they watched the CS, and said they should've been ready when he pulled...(I reamed that tank hard)
Ultima Weapon HM, when you actually had to care about mechanics, repeatedly telling a healer to quit using LB3...
Being told that my i70 geared WAR wasn't geared for Ifrit HM...
Dusk Vigil had two DPS drop party right before second boss...and DF still couldn't find someone...
Being kicked from Meridianum because two players didn't expect someone to fight back against their attempts to bully us into skipping CS...
My third attempt to record Keeper of the Lake for my Let's Play. Also known as "a reason I decided to start over."
Not to say there haven't been funny times.
The time in Copperbell when someone wanted to say they were killing all for an exp run, but typed "erp" instead. I said I wouldn't mind that kind of run. It got raunchy from there.
My FC leader flirting with a random we got in both Meridianum and Praetoreum.
I'm sure more will come to me.
On Diadem we got someone who went fishing and someone else who left for work when we had still 40 mins left -_-
Obviously from that point onwards we didn't get credit on Vs or NMs. Seriously, if you know you have to leave for work within the next hour why are you queuing for Diadem...
