Yeah. That is extremely uncalled for. Lucky is fairly rare. Don't be self conscious. They were just dicks. You food nothing wrong and even if you did do something wrong or does not constitute rudeness.

"Everyone was new once" and "not everybody is perfect" being nice and helpful GENERALLY goes a long way. Now, can't say it always does because there are times where people won't listen no matter how nice you put things. But there's never a need to publicly berate people in a group :/
