So much excite!
2.2 Patch March 27th
Confirmation of player housing in the future too! (not in 2.2)
I know, right? Now that Yoshi-p mentioned that we will be able to upgrade our Relic Weapons, I just can't stop wondering how strong they will be... They'll probably be as strong as the new allagan weapons, so I can probably skip on getting the current extreme primal / Allagan weapons. ( Since I still haven't beaten Titan and Twintania /cry )
Also, since we will most likely get new Allagan Gear too, do you think that we will be able to get the AF2 through tomestones as an alternative?
Arg... So many questions... So much excitement... (>_<; )
I haven't even bothered with the dailies that much yet to be fair.
I am looking forward to the fishing challenges myself mostly.
Hmm... well buying AF2 with the new tomes does make sense based on the gear history... I guess we will have to see ^^
I wonder if the relics will change form... or if we will just get a new 'shiny' effect...
I did Sylphs pretty fast because I like those silly little ones.
This one doesn't favour Amajaas or their friend Mononoke. Therefore this one is casual one in regards to desert ones. ;p
I'm going to use a mirage prism to make my Allagan crown look like a Dalamud horn for my SMN *giggles*
I'm quite pleased to see the glamour system is unrestrictive. Hopefully prisms won't be too much trouble to get our hands on.
I've read in an interview somewhere that the Disciples of the Hand would be able to create the "Glamour Prisms/Crystals". I can't look it up, but it has to be in either Reinheart's translation thread or one of the Glamour threads which have been popping out of the ground like mushrooms.
It was said by Yoshi himself in the last Live Letter too.

Additionally, the upcoming glamour system will involve Disciples of the Hand, so please look forward to this
To be fair, that could also mean that crafters can make special 'template' items. Fancy looking gear with no stats that are specifically for the glamour system(maybe replicas of unique dungeon sets). If I had to guess though, it'll be a bit of both.
From my understanding, Glamour Crystals are crafted (ilevel restrictions on them, so there will be level 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50s variations for example).
If I remember correctly, they said that once a glamour has copied an armour's look, it's now bound to character -- so crafters can only sell the generic crystals.
Expect them to cost no more than the crafted dyes, and to be about as profitable. (Which is to say, not much at all)
From what I understood, I can use all pieces of gear? Even those for Gatherers and Crafters, it just has to have the right iLvl?
If so: Yaaaay, Pirate Set, here I come! \o/
HUGE Edit:
..... I misunderstood it.... ;_; /cry /disappointed
As long as your job could wear it before, you can glamour to it.
Most of the old / leveling stuff isn't very restrictive, you should be able to look like a pirate easily, except maybe on crafters and gatherers.
That's also my understanding of the system.
And indeed, I can't find the quote as I am typing from my phone at the moment but Yoshi did mention it would be cheap.
Some of the items I want to use, or those which have the same appearance, are tagged as "All classes". Maybe it will work this way? :0
Aye, all classes should/will work. It would even work on crafters or gatheres, as long as the level agrees.
Which means, with the way the rules are described, you can totally make a camise & pantalettes warrior (or caster) at 50. That's totally more acceptable than a caster in plate.
I wonder if they'll let us use old "all jobs" Dated items for the system though. My FC leader still has an entire set of bronze plate mail that is dated and useable by all jobs...
First, I am totally jealous of the half-masks. I find it so weird they're no longer in-game. My alt, Lesha, has a full set of "Wood Warden Lookalike" dated gear that looks amazing, and cannot be reproduced anymore.
I personally only have a few dated items left on Cloe, but I do have a wonderful pair of green low level spectacles. Green sunglasses on everything come 2.2 (I hope!)
When they talk about slots, they do mean the equipment slots "used" by the armor, so like Darklight armor. Odin's armour, the biggest offender, (takes body, gloves, legs and feet slot) can only be glamour'd by an item with equal amount of slots. That said, tincan paladins and warriors can now... put on a cowl with glamour instead. Is that a visual upgrade? Maybe for fans of Assassin's Creed it might.
I'm hoping they do away with multi-slot armor in the future. Options seem too limited for glamours. Unless crafters will get nice looking multi-slot stuff.
Thank you! ^^
Stuffed all my dated items into one of my retainers. They don't fill a whole page though. Around 5-6 slots are left.
Sooo... 27th it is. Bad thing: I just got into a project at work which is included in my graduation and I won't be done until 4th of April ;-;
They need to change everyone's look to lala or Roe @ April 1st for the fun...
First off, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwPAj8ivQ-8
Secondly, looks like there's going to be new hair styles and craftable vanity gear!!! ^_^
Hmm.
Apparently relic weapons are getting an entirely new appearance.

Um... Guys? Are my eyes deceiving me, or is the girl between the Male Highlander and the female Lala a Viera?

(the one with the white hair, black and blue Paladin looking armor)
You can see a bigger on the promotion website, here:

Quite possibly, several developer screenshots have been hinting towards a Vierra (FFXIV name pending) like race.
And it's not like we've not been nagging the devs silly about it.
Will they become a playable race? Only time will tell.
(I'll stick to feline myself though)
I made the some observation and actually came to see here if anyone else did too =PQuote:

Definitely don't look like miqote ears to me.
Plus we're getting (most likely) a long eared species at somepoint.

"Hailing from the nation of Doma on the shores of Othard, Yugiri and her countrymen have fled their war-torn home and the oppression of Garlean rule in search of refuge.
With supplies and hopes for survival dwindling, Yugiri seeks council with Eorzea's leaders, that they too may call this land their home."
I like Yugiri's voice.
I am skeptical ... because:

Concept art can be misleading, (esp. where the foreshortening is concerned here) but at least there is a little sketch for thought.
The hair looks much like a Roegadyn hair style currently in game except has a head band.
Not sure if that pink edge is part of the ear, part of the pants behind her head, a colour mistake or hints towards a new ear type entirely (whether another miqo'te ear type or another race ear type)
They did say something about adding new Miqo'te ear types at some point didn't they? I have forgotten exactly.
Edit: Also:

The in game image shows you the correct positions of the ears on the model. But when drawing Nekomimi and the like we usually draw them like the art above and the sketch I did adding the second ear to the model.
While they look fine they are technically incorrect unless one ear is at a vastly different angle.
:3 And that is my not really arguing argument against that pic being a Veira...
if I am wrong then... well... *throws a bunny at you*
I think that's supposed to be a miqo'te. Aside from any notable NPCs that show up, I wouldn't expect a new race to be featured in artwork until we get closer to the patch/expansion that makes them playable(almost definitely expansion, but stranger things have happened). I could be wrong, though, and I don't have a fancy explanation like Niqote here(with illustrations, no less. Very nice!). Just going by usual MMO trends I've seen.
I might just be that her long hairstyle and the positioning of her ears are throwing me off. I did find a bigger version of the image :
http://img.finalfantasyxiv.com/lds/p....png?6cfd17av1
She does appear to have the shape of the Miqo’te ears, but you can see her legs in this image too. Even though the angle doesn’t seem to fit…
http://i.imgur.com/pYhGFOD.png
When i look at that, she appears to have the height of an Elezen, rather then a Miqo’te?
I did see some other things too:
At the top of the picture, there’s a Scholar that appears to be wearing something that resembles the FFXI Opaline dress?
http://i.imgur.com/PPXFJKp.png
http://zam.zamimg.com/ffxi/i/images/...line-Dress.jpg
And what about this Miqo’te at the top left? He has a dagger in his/her hand, but the outfit he/she’s wearing doesn’t look like tanking gear. More like something we had as a Dancer/Thief?
(I’m just guess here, but still…)

I think that dagger you highlight is part of a bow though.
The gear also looks quite bardish.
You do raise a good point about the length of the (Let's call her) animal girl (for now) as I believe that the Viera were also quite a tall race in FFXII if I remember correctly.
And Yugiri is also looking quite tall compared to the Hyur standing behind her in the trailer movie, although that could also just be perspective.
Yes, there is a possibility that it’s a bard, but in that case, i’m missing a quiver on his/her back. Also, Bard hold their bow with their left hand while tightening the string and shooting the arrow with the right hand, as you can see here:
http://img.finalfantasyxiv.com/lds/p....png?85589f2v1
The Miqo’te is holding his/her weapon with the right hand and a lalafell (black mage?) with the left hand. (^_^ )
So I dyed my hair pink a couple of days ago, now that it seems everyone will get the new "Long hair" styling I might look like Akio Ohtori from Revolutionary Girl Utena >_>

With all the speculation about the pictures. I can only say that concept art is concept. It means nothing.
