Finally I got my soot black :D
So who ever having same problem like me ( Marsh green loop Deepwood green ) try get back Marsh green and feed it with 1 berry and 1 apple, that what i did today. hope this will hep :)

can someone held me? i tried so much to get soot black but it doesnt work..
im at gloom purple and i want soot black.

So i was expetimenting with the calculator as suggested to me and now i got a new color i can'T find on the tables

it's called Anthracite(google translate)

just wondering what to do now :D

Was aiming for slate grey using that calculator but ended up with ceruleum blue. Also a nice colour but seems I overshot the mark. Does the lack of 'growing new feathers' affect it at all? Because I should have been able to feed a couple more fruits than I had and still landed on slate grey according to that thing, it just took me a few extra berries at the start before I started to get those messages, after which every fruit procced it (unless I should have fed them in a different order).

Either way, apparently feeding a couple pineapples would fix it, of course they were the one fruit I hadnt grown, hopefully tomorrow it will be the right colour.

There is a random chance that feeding the fruit for snow white feed in order that is listed in the google docs will result in Lotus Pink. I checked my chocobo yesterday to find him being pink :D Feeding 5 more plums will turn Lotus Pink to Snow White.

Have been going almost exactly step by step from sky blue (with a few jumps and such) to royal blue, hoping to make my way to soot black.

However The bird went from Royal Blue to Regal Purple and feeding more berries will just take me back to blue.

Any tips on how to get soot black from regal purple?

Was Midnight Blue. Fed 2 pineapples, only 1 feather message. Got Deepwood Green.

i also would like to know how to get from ochard brown to soot black!

Meh, everywhere I go on my Server someone has a White Choco and part of the reason I went for white was because this thread made it seem like everyone was going for black! I haven't seen one Blk Choco on my server yet ...

Going to try Black now, bout to hans lemon my Choco.

Have Try to come from rolamdberry to come to marsh green with rgb thing. But he is then regal purple again and now back to rolandberry...

Can no one help me? What make i wrong?

Third Feed: >> O'Ghomoro Berry x5, Mamoon Pear x5, Xelphatol Apple x5 = Midnight Blue
Fourth Feed:>> 1 Cieladlaes Pineapple = Ink Blue

Thank you! Tried your suggestion and I've landed at Kobold Brown. What should I feed from here? I don't want to mess it up now that I'm close.

Got kobold Brown this rng is pretty dumb going to try and feed it one plum and see if i get soot black. I may just end up in ink blue because you know rng hate me right now.

Got Snow white, pretty happy but I am looking more into getting Ice blue. Recommended feed from this point?

I want to clarify something: using the calculator or when told to add fruits, it's the amount of fruits that matters, not the procs. The proc indicates it changes colors, and the only one you should care about is the last fruit you feed should amount to a proc. Each fruit affects the value of color, maybe not enough each to cause it to change, but it does overall. When you feed as indicated by the calculator, feed only that, don't keep adding fruits to get that amount of procs for each. The only one you should care about is the last one. If that lands, then you should get the predicted color.

As you can see you very close to soot black i would wait too someone else can say go ahead and do 5 berry 5 apple and 5 pear. I thinking you would also have to get 15 overall growing message even if you feed over the 5. just wait and see what other have to say you may end up getting other color but you still be very close to black.

I went from Currant Purple to Deepwood Green.. then fed the valfruit to get to Black and ended back on Currant Purple, assuming I get back to Deepwood Green with a pear, what should I try next?

Sitting at Raptor Blue (95R, 135G, 199B) and aiming for Othard Blue (55R, 95G, 143B). Difference of -40, -40, -56.
I'm thinking feeding equal amounts of lighteners (plum, valfruit, pineapple) will do the trick, with maybe 8-10 of each and perhaps an extra couple of pineapples, but just wanted to confirm on here before I do it to make sure I'm on the right track.

Any thoughts?

From deepwood it's not one valfruit, it's:
pineapple 2
valfruit 2

So when you said "pear 7
plum 3 and
berry 6" it's only these fruits ?
Because i haven't got any "new feathers" mesages on pears :S It doesn't matter ?

And you confirm it's that for dalamud to soot black ?

That would go the wrong way, need them deeper, not lighter.

Try:
berry 8
apple 8
pear 8

Which lands:

To Target 0 0 -16

The proc that matters is the last one. Just feed the total, each affects the color, feather proc confirms a color jumps.

I did the 5-6 plums and ended up with apple green...anyone know where to go from there for snow white?

I am stuck in a purple loop! rolanberry - regal - rolanberry - regal - rolanberry - regal- grape - loam brown - grape. I am at Grape Purple now trying to get to Currant Purple (SO CLOSE!) Any help would be appreciated at this point, I'm running out of money and my FC mates are tired of me hogging the garden. Thanks in advance! Here's what's happened so far:

Step 1 -
5 apples - millioncorn yellow

Step 2 -
8 apples - pumpkin orange

Step 3
11 apples - sunset orange

step 4
11 apples - blood red

step 5
6 berries - dalamud red

15 berries - rolanberry red

Go toss 2 pineapples on top of those 2 valfruit quickly, as that is exactly what I fed that was suggested to me and got me from deepwood green to soot black.

2x valfruit, 2x pineapple.
