Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

This has my full support! After the huge deal that was made out of adding male Miqo'te and female Roegadyn I find it hard to believe that they didn't plan on adding the equivalents later, especially with an even larger (and vocal) fanbase this time around. On the off chance this wasn't considered though.. I really hope the team take this overwhelming reaction on board. How could they not?

I support giving us male Viera and female Hrothgar... even if it's lore-breaking because there is already so many lore-breaking things in this game it doesn't matter anymore, just give people what they are asking for!! Players want options, and for many players- especially RP'ers- it's extremely important and they are paying a subscription for SE to produce content for them as well as everyone else.

Supporting this 100%.
The lore is being broken every single time a player starts the game anew as Au Ra and later in the story line standing in from of disguised Yugiri who says "I can't reveal myself yet.." to another Au Ra, one among hundreds at that moment around already.
So, please give us male Viera.

Genderlocking is something that was abolished in Final Fantasy 14 for multiple reasons and should not be introduced again. The devs may not have intended to, but this reinforces gender-norms and sets a bad precedent for the game and MMO's as a whole. Having both genders is an important step in the correct direction of providing ways for EVERYONE to be able to play what they're comfortable with in addition to feeling represented. "Lore" reasons can and should be changed in the face of a massive amount of paying players wanting representation. We understand these things take time and money but genderlock needs to stay abolished. So, please Square, if you must add male viera and female hrothgar later please do it soon.

I personally want and would love to play male viera. The fact alone that they remain hidden is an interesting cultural idea to explore. Female viera leave the wood and there is no reason that some males would do the same!

Especially for a male viera WOL, who would be displaying immense courage leaving his people in order to save the realm.

I know none of you will be swayed by this, but in the case of Viera, the XIV team won't just lock in a design for Male Viera when they were never even shown in any of the Ivalice games.
It's just not their creature to design and they will most definitely never do it by themselves.
Besides, this concept of "tiny androgynous little bunny boys" I keep seeing is really creepy . Keep that stuff in your FC House please.

Female Hrothgar is perfectly feasible, but there's much more urgency to the fact that they're just Roegadyn, and nothing about them is up to the usual standard of quality of the game.
Even the heads, you can see the seam where the muzzle meets the Roe face, as if it was glued on. It's a really pitiful job and the end result is goofy lumbering hairy Miqo'te.

"More is better" is just not true.
Keeping your worldbuilding intact, and keeping the identity of races and characters intact, is much more important than having one more skin for your character.
Too much of anything, even choice, is more often than not a really bad thing, other current MMOs which I won't name are living (although not for long) proof of that.
You need the right amount.

On a side note, I'm seeing a concerning amount of people wiriting things like "I don't care about this, but I do care about [insert political agenda] . I mean, it's the current year everybody!".
One person wrote "Sexual dimorphism doesn't real".
Please keep that stuff out of here.

Lock in a design? Races throughout the FF franchise kept certain distinguishing features but they can hardly look like themselves across games. Even the races we have here that are based on XI races or what not have their differences. Moogles have varying differences depending on the game they're in, with the most extreme example I can think of is the Ivalice Moogles.
Another game could well introduce their own take on male Viera and the sky won't fall.

If they were really adamant about the lore, this would've been a single player game.

SE, I support your decision to stay within the bounds of the lore you've created for yourself.

However, if you find the pressure for male Viera is too much and do eventually add them, please make them the powerful, savage, bloodthirsty, and territorially murderous hunters they are in the lore, not the cutesy Alphinaud-size things people have in their heads for some reason.

I'm all for having characters of all body types, but you've established this lore, and I hope you won't change it. Those of us with reasonable mental health do not identify as our character and do not take a missing type as a personal attack.

I thought we were done with genderlocking after v1 :'(
