Just checked my Chocobo. After giving it 30 Xel Apples and 10 O'Ghomoro Berries I got Dalamud Red.
I think I'll keep this for now and try for Gloom Purple once we have more concrete info on how to dye things. Time to grow a stockpile of plants.

You can just use Edit and put it all in one post lol...
By my own theories the following will occur if the messages you gave were accurate:
chocobo 1 colour changes: 1
chocobo 2 colour changes: 1
chocobo 3 colour changes: 4
chocobo 4 colour changes: 2
chocobo 5 colour changes: 2
chocobo 6 colour changes: 5
Chocobos 1 and 2 should be same colour orange
Chocobo 4 is darker orange/red in that colour then those above
Chocobo 3 is even darker orange/red in that colour then those above
Chocobo 5 will be a light green
Chocobo 6 will be turquoise (more blue then Chocobo 5)
I look forward to your results. I have not taken Black-White into much consideration just for now.
same with mine i will know when mine are done they should all be different colors but the two control
yeah should have some of the other stuff matter but yeah,
also yeah black and white seem like they will be hard to get i don't think its a line because to much red makes then blue which would explain alot.

Was aiming for soot black, not too far off with Midnight Blue
Idk if this picture will work, but i think it might be like this idk how the fruit effects which way it goes and the color in the box might be in the wrong spots. like it might go "unknown color" yellow red blue green http://www.baycongroup.com/win98/images/w98color.gif
Followed spreadsheet with 7 doman plums and 8 valfruit. Ended up with rose pink instead of colibri pink. T_T
I really, really think people need to stop using the existing spreadsheet and start a new one that reflects the number of fruits that gave the 'growing new feathers' message. then if we can duplicate those results we know we have a winning formula.
These multiple colors from the same recipe obviously isn't the answer.
