Yeah. We’ll find more once they get s clearer picture as to how commercially successful ShB is I guess and to what extent the new races are contributing to that. Probably something they will need to gauge by 5.1 so they can begin planning ahead.

I don't see why Shareholders would be involved in this. Im part of the party that would have loved a playable Beast Race. They have many beast races in the World, I would have loved the option to be one in-game. And Im sure there are Like Minded People out there who would feel the same.

I understand the appeal of marketing the hrothgar and viera as "two new races" from a marketing stand point and am okay with their implication. I think as it gives them the potential to patch in the missing genders at a later date this was a smart choice, I enjoy hrothgar's customization as they are unique when compared with the other races. The same way with female viera, but I understand those that dislike the hairystyle limitations I hope the issue can be resolved and most parties can be pleased.

Agreed, I don’t think they have this kind of operational involvement - it’d be pretty unusual anyway, especially since the executive’s office is there to manage the company and the board of directors is meant to ensure they do so in a way that safeguards shareholder interests. So it’s likelier to be a senior management decision but we can’t wish away the reality that SE is still accountable to both its shareholders and customers and therefore has to ensure funds are being used profitably. It’s more a question of whether they’ve made the right decision on this occasion and we won’t know until 5.1 or so.

lol ... I will never understand the logic I see tossed around here.

How about the occam's razor answer?
Fans have been asking for a Beast race (This is true, not everyone wanted Viera as shocking as you might think. As a Viera supporter I noticed this was a big desire and Yoshi claims it's the case), the devs wanted to make a Beast race (this is also stated by Yoshi himself) and it's something this game didn't have that the other 2 big AF mmos do have (also true. Believe it or not but the aesthetics of this game can offer a barrier to entry. Much like Zelpha HQ stated in her vid about leaving WoW for FF I to thought this looked like some Weeaboo bullshit. I never played a FF game and only knew of 3 FF characters. Only other MMO I invested in was GW2. So having your choices be only cute smolls pretty much certainly doesn't help breach this barrier. Yoshi also states how this benefits the long term health of the game).

So they decide to do Hrothgar ... but fans have been wanting Viera for a long time and with this being their last chance to add a race they decided to cut the beast girls to appease those fans who felt let down ever since draggos were revealed. They knew they would get this kinda blow back but after a ton of thought decided to go this route to please the most people.

There, an answer that's based on what we've been told and doesn't assume some shadey faceless "shareholders" forced him to add a race (lol, wut?) or that something was "shoehorned" in.

this is not a support thread anymore, now is it? Its a "argue about race" thread. Why people are still argue btw? There wont be any male bunny in the next 2 weeks. Save your breath, in 2 weeks we get 5.0, so 90% in this thread can cry about other stuff they dont like / agree with. So give your pitchforks a rest.

If we do get the missing genders expect such limitations or more on them especially if SE does nothing to change how they do things internally

Do we need so many ppl to come here to tell us that we don't need this thread?
I mean, I think we should ignore ppl coming here to simply tell us that this thread is useless, but it got old a few pages ago
