We also told the story to Hermes in front of Meteion which could have planted even further seeds and given them the Final Days idea. Meteion didn't even want to tell Hermes the results but we traced her down and made her. They would not have found her without us being able to sense her.

Like when you really break it down, these incidents were a result of our actions just as much as they were Venats.

Lastly, Venat also makes a point in our story that meeting her probably wasn't important to the reason we cane to Elpis when it actuality it caused everything.

Endsinger would still have been born of the Meteias’ despair regardless of whether our Meteion told us or not. The process had already started, motivated by their belief that what they were doing was good. I don’t believe our convo in Elpis effected much.

I believe it’s Hyth who actually suggests it’s not important to meet her, Venat actually suggests (correctly as we later found out) that her future self knew they would run into one another.

I mean we have no way of knowing how it would have turned out if we were not there or if we had not told Venat.
Meteions sisters were already out there collecting their data and Hermes was already pretty pissed about the threatment of other living beings.

Yes we told him what will happen, at the same time we also showed him that others feel sad too. We have no idea how both of these things truly influenced him.

If we had not been there, he would have still heard the information from Meteion. (She would probably not be able to hide from him forever) Which will send him over the edge. Now it could go that far that he does not take up the seat of Fandaniel thus the Ancients lost their best hope against the Despair since it was his plan that gave the planet a chance. Or he becomes Fandaniel but does not plan to save the planet since he now knows that this is happening everywhere.

All of this also does not take into account that Meteion would probably still be on the planet. Afterall she only left because Hermes told her so. And since Emet and the others have no idea that she is bascially going to cause a calamity, they have no reason to capture her, thus no reason for Hermes to send her away. I wonder how her being on the planet would affect it? Other Meteions managed to bascially start the Final Days on other planets on their own.

Everything with Hermes remains the same because those events were set in motion before the WoL's arrival. The likelihood that Meteion fled/joined her sisters rather than ever disclosing the report to Hermes is probable, so he's none the wiser about the Song of Oblivion and still gets recruited to the Convocation possibly spurred on by her disappearance.

It's Venat's actions that become questionable, especially as without the WoL it's 1) unlikely she would've heard Meteion's report and been triggered by hearing about Deka-hepta and 2) she'd have no idea the Final Days were dynamis based. Given these were her two primary reasons given in the Q&A for the sundering, well... Not to mention we don't know if she could've conceived of the sundering as a means of defeating Zodiark without the WoL telling her about it.

We cant say that for sure. He took the position as Fandaniel after the memory wipe where he believed that Meteion died because he made her aether structure too thin. Basically he got a huge amount of guilt and does not know the truth anymore.

Everything about him being the same really comes down to if he gets the information from Meteion or not. I am not really sure if Meteion would really go so far and go to her sisters alone. Even when she was faced with three ancients and us, she only took off when Hermes said she should. Maybe she would in that other time, maybe she wouldnt. Heck the hivemind could also simply overwhelm her with enough time too.

I agree that Venat would not know anything. (Or at least should not) But that would also be a problem for the Ancients because since nobody now knows that the Final Days are bascially thanks to the Meteions, nobody would also invent a plan to stop them. They would create Zodiark and feel save behind their new shield. Until that fails and everyone will be wiped out.

I'm nervous the current direction of the story is that the Azem that is us is actually us further in the future and it's just one giant paradox waiting to happen

Basically the game is heading into Song of Storms paradox direction if anyone is familiar with where I'm pulling that from.

I'm really hoping the answer to how Azem "arranged" for us to meet Themis/Elidibus is going to end up being much simpler then something like that... somehow.

If the MSQ ends up having us rejoin with another one of our shards during this business in the 13th, I could completely see it going in that direction though.

I'm hoping it's just an "Azem is always late" sort of thing. Yet another time loop after how unpopular this last one was that ends in the worst possible way for just about everybody would be the worst writing decision I've seen possibly ever. Assuming there is an 'end' to the story, I'm really hoping for once they do a 'choose your own adventure' type ending.

Hmmm...I suspect they'll be pulling a curveball on us. Perhaps us making a memory crystal of what happens, it getting knocked out of our hands somehow when we have a cutscene of us returning to the First from the past, and then another cutscene of Azem from before the raid's start (in the Convocation's outfit and from a back view) finding it. A case of bizarre stable time loop. Gonna have to quote Dr Who here, as it's possibly what they're aiming for.
