What I'd really like to see is the option to bid on any available houses of a certain size. For example, if there are 3 mediums available on my server the menu should allow me to check a box next to all 3 of them since I don't care about location. That way I'd at least feel like I have a chance instead of pointlessly going through the motions every bidding round.

It's pretty disheartening being on Balmung and more populated realms. Nearly every bidding cycle it's 40+ people bidding on smalls. I've seen quite a few times where newly boosted sprouts with only one class at 80 have won houses over people who have been playing since legacy, 2.0, and beyond. It's a system that's still being abused in a way that it isn't intended to be. The whole "just transfer realms" isn't an answer either, most of us have been on Balmung and such since the beginning, it's home for us. Like the OP I've entered every housing cycle and have yet to win one. Call it bad luck or whatever, but something needs to be changed. Lock character creation/transfer down, improve it so that you can't boost a character and immediately bid on a house to better your odds, open more wards for higher pop realms. As it is now, it's not acceptable.

The housing system has never been acceptable so nothing new there. It's been flawed from the start but rather than leaving the original wards to the FC only design and adding a new system for personal, they've been trying to make the FC design work for both. -

To a system of placard clickers competing with about 3-5 players willing to put up with that annoying process to get one for up to 16 hours a day. To now compete against anyone who wants that specific house which can 0-60+ bids. To then having to bid literally against an entire server if they are aware and wanting a house.... At this point you are actually making the situation worse for yourself as you are asking to potentially be bidding against 500+ players per house.Quote:

I got my small under the clicking system and still think it was better then the lotto because it kept fair-weather players out. That said I would be fine with allowing you to put in as many bids on a house that you can afford....so if you want 10 bids on a 50m large...pay 500m. If you win you lose 500m - would go a long way to helping dump gil out of the economy.
