I wouldn’t really say it’s gated behind making gil—gil isn’t that hard to make. It’s gated more behind lack of housing due to SE’s stubbornness to shift away from wards and towards instanced housing that everyone can access. Crafting recipes are gated behind desire to level crafters; same with gathering. PVP is locked behind one’s desire to do the content. Just because they’re “gated” behind money or desire doesn’t make them any less content than other things like dungeons or MSQ.
Value is a subjective measure. Some people don’t care about the battle aspect of this game and would rather craft/gather, but I don’t see them in this thread trying to say that the new Housing Wards or Ultimate Savage arent “content” just because they don’t see the value in them.
