While I can have a mask made with my mats for <200K...materia costs are insane. More than 100K for the reds, sometimes over 150K...
ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

edited to save embarrassment.
I saw gloam and instantly reacted lol
Thank you times Infinity! Just starting out on the PS4...so all the help is much appreciated! May your pole-arms stay straight and your stances be sure...Twelvewoods!!!
I seem to have broken my brain with these soldiery purchases, my current gear is as follows, if anyone could help me on what to buy next I have 1,380 soldiery atm.
(477 acc with allagan spear, 514 with atma weapon, 504 with levi spear (atma and levi spear are not upgraded).
allagan visor of maiming
wyrm's mail
allagan gauntlets of maiming
hero's belt of maiming
onion sarouel (farming T1 for the allagan pants atm)
weathered astrum sabatons
hero's necklace of slaying
allagan earrings of maiming
hero's bracelet of slaying
vortex ring of slaying
weathered gloam ring
What other pieces of gear do you have? (i90+ only) That'll give me a bit more freedom to choose the best purchase for you. Though, the Astrum Legs would be the #1 Purchase hands down.
Out of curiosity, how many of you all are buying the chest piece and belt? It's confirmed to drop in T9 (FFXIV Libra app). I figured those would probably be the first upgrades for those progressing as a DRG.
For me so far, I've bought the chest piece and ring. I got the High Allagan gloves in T6 last week so I didn't need to buy the Astrum ones. We also downed T7 last night so I don't want to potentially waste my Soldiery if I happen to get the boots next week. I have my eyes on the belt for my next upgrade I think.
Am still up in the air atm with what to buy with Soldiery. Yes, I have reviewed BiS pre T9, but seem to have some horrible RNG with drops in Coil2. ( have my ring from T7 thus far )
Having T6-8 is for sure a bonus, just debating waiting out some of the drops, or start dropping Soldiery on armor pieces. Have weathered spear, and ring as far as purchases. Probably wait and look at what Tuesday brings for drops and move on from there

tried to develop some new code and tested with your gear.
keep in mind those results are based on that you don't have more gear than that (which is probably false), acc you want is 485 and my code is working properly.
Despite the belt dropping T9, I'm not going to bother buying the Sol belt. The stats are meh (Acc/SS) and even though it does give 5 STR, there are better things to spend Sol on. 2.3 will probably add some more i100 armor (CT2) and it may be at that point that I have the Sol for the belt anyway, and...yeah, not worth it.
I do have the Body (and pants), since the Acc on it IS needed. Also, the attribute increases are the greatest (along with the pants) so upgrading it early is a good idea.
I have the High Allagan Gauntlets as well, and will be buying the Sol gauntlets soon-ish (next is Liberator, then Ring, then Gloves or Feet, then other) since they, and the feet, are BiS. However, I may go get Sol gear for another job (WAR most likely) first, since I'll need Sands to get them upgraded to replace High Allagan, and then buy the Hands/Feet when I get Sands to use them (though if I don't get the Allagan feet from T7 by the time I have the Sol after getting my Ring I'll buy those first)
I'm at a point with my gear that the only Sol. pieces that will give me an upgrade at 495acc are the Body and Feet. Hands, Earrings, Belt, and Head won't even do anything for me til I get other pieces.
I also hate the way the body looks since it makes it look like you're wearing a skirt. I'm sure it looks fine when you have the whole set but I'm definitely saving the body for one of my last pieces.
I said it was one of only two items that would actually be an upgrade over what I have now. And I've been judging them based on cost as well as upgrade potential, so yea the Body will be one of the later ones that I actually pick up since it is more efficient for me to pick up the Feet next. The others I might not even pick up at all if they aren't upgrades after I get my next item, thus Body will be "one of my last pieces".
Why not save up for liberator?
Body will be last for me, it's really not a good piece until it is upgraded and you are using either liberator/high allagan spear and need the accuracy, cos ughh SS. I have a melded wolfram cuirass with +24 det +27 crit and +34 accuracy that will hold me over until I have a spare sand of time. Will most likely upgrade liberator > legs > body. Depending on coil drops.
0 miss in turn 8 @479 hit btw, of course only side and rear attacks were used
Boots, or Wristlets.
I hope this is the right place for this, if not I'm sorry. There seems to be something fundamentally wrong with my rotation, which is odd because I'm following this guide more or less to the letter. I'm ilvl 90 and using the Gae Bold zenith. When I check my DPS at the dummy, I struggle to break 300. I usually go until I run out of TP so I know the duration is consistent. This is my exact rotation:
HT-sweep-ID-IR-Dis-BfB-PS-CT-jump-Ph-TT-VT-Ls-FT-HT-TT-VT-FT-Ph-ID-Dis-CT-HT-TT-VT-FT-Ph-TT-VT-FT
When I'm just parsing at the dummy I'll weave the other jumps in whenever they're up. If someone could shed some light on this I'd greatly appreciate it.
one thing, don't put multiple off-gcds in between gcds
Here's what is recommended:
HT-IR-ID-BFB-DiS-PS-CT-Jump-PH-Sweep-TT-(Spineshatter)-VT-LS-FT(DF)
That's how you should do your burst. If you're not breaking 300, then you're doing something terribly wrong somewhere. You're doing the optimal rotation of H-IDC-P-TTT, H-TTT-P-IDC-H-TTT-P-IDC, so the only thing I can really say is that you're just not being quick enough with your skills, or thinking too much about the rotation, thus breaking the fluidity. With i90 on a dummy you should be 330 stable-ish.
Save your jumps for your bursts, or your friend isn't "testing" you properly.
Hi everyone,
I only recently found out about this thread, and i'm stuck with what to do with my gear. I'm still quite new to this game.
Up until now i've basically just done my own thing, tried to stack ACC and CRIT as much as possible, based on what i thought DRG to be; a short burst class.
Until I found out about this thread, and realised i should've been doing something else.
My plan was just to continue farming CRIT gear, and sink some Solderies in W.A Gloves/Accessories, while pumping up my Atma wep.
http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...acter/7068761/
I have also have Allagan body, and Myth feet in invo.
Anything <H.A I will probably be able to hunt.
I need a bit of help with Pre-Second coil set-up, so that i'll be ready to start farming for the BiS set.
Much appreciated,
Thanks.
Interesting. Were you predominately at the rear, or flank for most of those T8 attempts? If you were mainly at the Rear and only going to the flank for HT, that could slightly skew the results, but interesting nonetheless.
1stly, especially for yourself who's still new and gearing up to i90, I WOULD NOT gear for BiS. I would get any upgrade you can possibly get your hands on. And ilvl upgrade is always better, no matter whatever the stats are (in most cases...) Get those Gloves, bracelets, especially your earrings upgraded and put your Myth Boots on. Those i60 boots are trash, and no where near as good as i90 Myth Boots.
The order of stats should always follow Weapon Damage > Strength > Accuracy Requirements > Determination > Crit > Skill Speed, for basic gearing up that is.
Fellow dragoons, I know I'm late to the party with this. But if training a chocobo. What's the best build for us?
Heals or Tank. Both do the same job. I prefer healing though.
Why on earth would you be in front of anything in turn 8 ? the only thing i can think of is a DiS straight when the Dread spawn by beein in front of just before it's pulled, but other than that ... you ll be all the time behind the back of the avatar, of course exception done with ht beein re applied.Quote:

And same logic regardin the Dread position, it ll be right on the avatar's feet anyway ... well i mean, his back will be right in front of you
Well, being mostly at the back just tells us a potential caster (rear) accuracy cap...we need the flank cap. It could be the flank is that low, but without staying there for a long time we can't be sure (its possible you just never missed any HTs because you got good RNG on them). HT is an important skill for us, after all...we don't want any chance at missing them.
I never said front what so ever. I said Flank, the side. If you're only ever at the rear, like what PArcher posted, you're only telling us the Rear Accuracy requirements, with a few lucky hits on the Flank with HT.
What I was asking was if you were mainly on the side, the flank, during your tests. It doesn't matter if we're getting 100% accuracy at sub-480 accuracy on the rear, when we have abilities that need to be struck from the Flank, EG Heavy Thrust, or a Monks Dragon Kick/Twin Snakes etc.
and when was it confirmed the flank/rear requeriments are different? it sounds pretty stupid that for one skill you gotta have a higher cap, i feel like its kinda like front/not front. also i've done t8 with 485 and some of t9 without realizing any miss so i don't think 495 is needed aswell, now i am using 500+ because of crafted gear though.
Ehhh that 15% damage buff is very significant. If you miss it, you either have to carry your rotation without HT, or you have to Re-HT. Either way it'ss a DPS loss, the latter being the least, something you don't want for T8/9.
I've heard a lot of mixed stories about the accuracy needed for T8, which is why I'm interested in knowing what it really is. I cannot test as my Static isn't on T8 yet :(
i am just wondering if there's a flank accuracy at all or if it's the same as rear, it just makes no sense that you have the option to only miss heavy thrusts and i didnt notice a miss only on it with any accuracy. i know HT is a pretty big deal :p
