No, I'm still pretty sure you were missing my point entirely. I prefer dubs, except when I see that a sub is story-wise making more sense than the dub.

As far as the sub vs. dub debate, I'm surprised no one mentioned Black Lagoon

for me personally, I have no problem watching subbed, though I still lean towards dubbed as personal preference. That being said, I do find different takes on a character interesting. Case in point:

I've totally done that before. And it was one step further! The manga was in Japanese! And I understood most of it! Though I suppose I cheated and referred to a kanji dictionary (on my phone no less!) when I couldn't deduce the meaning of a kanji through context.

However, that does not mean that everyone who isn't satisfied is not a brat. Generalizing either way is wrong. Similar to trolling. While having a differing opinion itself is not trolling, purposefully taking on an opposing opinion to promote a flame war is. Not all with different opinions are trolls, but not all with different opinions are not trolls.

Then who justifies if the opinion is or isn't genuine. A troll is someone using intentional logical fallacies to get a rise out of people. Not a discerning opinion you personally feel is out to get your goat. And even then we don't need to defend our own opinions with "oh you're just-"nonsense.

Sqare's a big enough company to handle a few dissatisfied opinions and its clear they are willing to listen. But if you don't agree, say so with some grace instead of being just as ready to fan the flames as you suspect they are trying to cause. If they are here to cause chaos, you don't want to hand it to them on a silver platter.

Give the benefit of a doubt. Express your disagreement in a rational respectable manor as it's a win win. If they're here to cause trouble, they failed against your level headed response and if the opinion is genuine, you've instigated a decent conversation with the opportunity to expand your viewpoint against another.

I remember when i was younger. You didnt hear about games in advance, you found out when it hit the shelves. there was no advertizing, they were just games after all. You didnt have an opportunity to be in contact with anyone who worked on the games to voice an opinion about anything.

kids these days... seem so entitled in comparison. Just because you have an internet connection and payed a company money for a game does not give you any special rights. Just for some perspective, Even shareholders in SE dont have any direct influence on what they produce. Thats all I'm saying.

This whole board is dedicated to us being able to clearly communicate with the dev community. The fact that opportunities like this didn't exist years ago doesn't mean we shouldn't make use of what we got now. This entire generation of games has been riddled with disappointments and underhanded techniques to suck out every last dime from the customer. I thank goodness every day that Square is far more willing to take their customers seriously while companies like EA and Capcom are all too ready to ignore complaints and let twisted journalists blame us for their foul-ups.

Square released a terrible game, easily deserving of the 4.0 it got on release. They want us to complain, they want us to have opinions. They listen and have changed the game accordingly, even going back to change features they already changed like the clothes colors being connected to stats. This isn't being entitled, its taking advantage of the environment Square has provided. A company that actually gives a hoot about its lifeblood.

And dont take me too personally, My comments have been general and not directed at you aside from asking if i hit a nerve, it was to the general attitude i see in the forums. I do know there is an exception to the rule and for the record, I have always enjoyed your posts and never taken any issue to your comments.

I can understand the need to be tankful for what you got, but that does not mean you shouldn't strive for better. Take action. Don't be subservient to the companies. Work with them. Let them know what you like and dislike. They're here to make you happy enough to give them your hard earned money and clear, blunt communication is the most direct route. Everyone's working hard here. A massive business does not need to be babied by its consumers.

I respect Square and all its employees for all the work they're putting into this, but I'm not just going to heap praise on them just for the effort. Square attributes its failures to communication issues, so lets not make it worse by playing the "yes" men.

Bahamut didn't destroy the world -.- he didn't even destroy Limsa OR Ul'dah OR Gridania. He just caused some explosions here and there. We don't know how long Bahamut remains after we get teleported away, But ARR is 5 YEARS after that, and he didn't succeed in destroying the world yet; so, fail.
