Bard - they broke my job

To me this is a quick fix they did. They had like what... 2 weeks to implement these changes? Im going to go out on a limb and say they were purposefully conservative with the changes. Yoshi did say he was going to look at the data from the Alexander encounter and go from there.

Of course, this is the same idiot who recently said MCH and BRD play the role that he himself chose to keep out of the game so I wouldnt hold your breath for anything more than another FU from the developers.

Still very unhappy with the whole Minuet thing.

First the nerf to sidewinder is too intense and unnecessary.

Second, I don't care even if Minuet would turn me into a turret of pure destruction, I chose to play bard for its Mobility!

If I want to be a turret, I switch to my Black Mage job!

As long as Minuet will make me sacrifice my mobility I ll consider it an aberration that should not exist on the Bard class.

You don't get the 100 potency nerf in light of a 10% flat increase on everything and 0 cast time on Minuet?

Its just a super standard krietor opener since its without minuet on.

HE + RS + BL > SS > B4B + IR > WB > dex pot > vb > barrage + sidewinder > heavyshot > flaming arrow + bl or repelling shot > hs > you get the idea.

From then on I just played it exactly like 2.0 bard except you make sure not to barrage anything other than heavy shot and you try to not cry when you think about how much weaker new barrage is than old barrage.

Its not that they are too much to handle. its that there are frequent situations where you have no opportunity to use bl and some situations where using bl will fuck your rotation and cause you to drop dots. Theres no way to mitigate this by dropping minuet because #1 bloodletter procs are completely random and cannot be planned for and #1 minuet's stancechange is itself an ogcd that needs to be weaved thus taking the spot of one of the ogcds you need to weave in a less than 3 second period to use bl in time.

Come on mate, you really think Bards care about that ? It's whine party ever since 3.0 launched :) Now they can't go back to being happy with their job ... it's way past that :)

Next patch notes could be "WM doing 340% more damage, but Sidewinder is 5 less potency", they will be like "WHAT ????? WHY SE ???? what did you do to my SW damage ! why ?" lol

Yeah. As of today, I'm dropping BRD and switching to BLM. All I wanted was to be able to run and shoot and make mages happy. But since that's not going to be an option in high level raids, I may as well just cast the big kabooms. It's sad. Not as bad as FF11 where SE murdered the ranger job, but still. I don't have any intensive to get Bard to 60 any more.

I'm sure they'll change Bards around. I don't play that job personally so I have no idea what I,m saying but Wanderer's Minuet sounds like a 180 degree playstyle shift.

Why is it almost every single time I see someone making snarky comments about bards in threads like these, a quick glance to the side shows they are not a bard...how easy it is to be snarky when it is not their class with the design and implementation issues being talked about yet if shoe was on the other foot they would not be happy about people taking pot shots at their class when they have issues with their own.
