We've completed a whole week without acknowledgement of this issue, other than the initial post of this thread, which was wrong. I would really like to try to enter payment information for my fiancee's account, but support said I should wait two weeks from the incident to try again. Two weeks is a little silly, and you all at SE know that, [sarcasm] so I know you contacted GlobalCollect to unlock everyone's payment [/sarcasm], so we can pay you our hard earned money. I'll even buy 180 days on her account! Hot darn, almost (another) $80 into your low coffers.
Did I mention my fiancee and I were subscribers to your last MMO, XI, for years? Yeah, we've paid you LOTS of money in the past, and you can reciprocate that with some support. I would just like to play with my fiancee, if you don't mind.

I was wondering how you add a payment method? My free trail days are almost up and I'm trying to figure out how to add my credit card to my account to pay. I can't fins anything in payment methods, and all I get is having to register for Crysta. I've given up trying to use my credit card since I can't find anything, but now when I try to register for Crysta it just tells me there is an error and that I should call support if it happens again.
I just want to be able to pay for the game when the time comes so I don't have to worry. Why is this so hard!? I can't find an answer anywhere. TAT
It's not only that though. I'm first trying to enable buying crysta, but I get this error 20003 every time. I'm not sure if it'll get fixed soon, but if it isn't I can't even try to buy crysta at this point if the site won't even let me enable it. I don't know how much longer I'll have to wait for a result.
I'm wondering if this is a region issue. What region is your game based in? If everybody can post where they are trying to pay from maybe we can pinpoint something down. My account is NA from Canada and I have no problems subbing or buying crysta (using paypal).
Mine is in Americas in North America. I'm not sure but maybe it could be. But Square really needs to figure out this problem soon or there is going to be trouble ahead in the future.
Say, how do you know when you are subscribed to the FFXIV game? I've seen some people take screenshots of their mog station status to show a point and such, but mine never shows anything like payment method in the account settings or anything. Maybe that could be my problem? I'm not really sure. I haven't had much luck finding a manuel on how to play this game or do subscriptions properly. :P
If you log into Mogstation, under Square Enix Account Settings then go to Register/Update Payment Method. It won't prompt you to pay yet due to you still having a bit more than a week left I believe. But see if you can pre-add the credit card, otherwise 2-3 days before you have to pay, check again and it'll have a button to continue to payment in Mogstation.
I'm not seeing it under mine. All it says is Account information, Update account information, or one-time password. I don't understand why I don't have those payment options yet.
Since you are from NA I wouldn't be too worried about it. You can try going to their other account management site.

I've tried enabling Crysta there, but it just gives me the error again. And the account information isn't much either. I checked for updating, but that's only for like your password or security questions.
Why is trying to pay for this subscription so hard? Why couldn't they give us a manuel on how to this in the game box? Or give us a video on how to do it or something? It's too hard to simply figure out on the internet. XP

I'm living in Australia, which belongs to "Europe & Other Regions" when I first create a SE account back in ver1.0 of FF14. I don't have the option to purchase Crysta, or using Ultimate Pay. My only options are either credit cards or pre-paid game card. For c/c, I've tried all 3 different cards I have (one debit Mastercard, one Visa, one AE, each issued by different Australian Bank). After several days of trying (I think we all know this 24-hour-auto-blocking things by now), by using the debit Mastercard, the error 601 which many people has encountered finally gone, I was able to come to the final payment confirm page (or whatever that called, it's basically a table chart listing all the details), I was like "ohhhhh YES!" (BTW is this part of gameplay? I mean it really feels like I've got a hard achievement or just beat a hard boss and lot a great item lol...anyway...), then, the EPIC error 401!!
I've tried maybe 3 more times in 2 or 3 days, and then just stopped and waited since then. I've already got charged (those small 1.XX dollors), the transactions still shows as "pending" atm. I'll just wait for it to get through and maybe try again, like someone suggested in the previous page, see if it will works.
I really like the game, and I realllllllllllllllllllllllllly hate SE now. I think most of ppl here would share same feeling as I do.....
Another day without an answer. Tomorrow I'll complete 7 days without playing due to this error you still won't acknowledge. Today hoping phone support would be better than "live" chat, I waited 30+ minutes for an agent, not willing to pay any more money for a probable useless call, I hung up.
I ask again... Should I just quit the game for ever? At this point I think it'd be faster to purchase a new game, level 3 jobs to lvl50, get full relic and DL gear before I can play again.

You won't get an a answer from them. They've made that pretty clear. Our best bet is to hope that a large amount of players get stuck on the same issue once the free time on the new v2 players wears off and they're forced to do something about it. Sigh… Its pretty clear to me that their attitude towards the players never really changed from v1 and has been purely superficial up to this point.
They will not fix this guys, really, just give up, I already did... Best thing to do is play other games. A total of what, about 70 pages (counting the other thread bublex locked for no reason...) and nothing but a single reply, which might as well be no reply at all? Yeah, time to move on.
Like the other person that responded to you, not all regions can buy Crysta. I'm from Guam a U.S. Territory however their payment system (Globalconnect?) does not recognize Guam as part of the "American Region" even though SEs "Software License Agreement" does recognize Guam as part of the "American Region." (http://support.na.square-enix.com/ru...ag=software_en) I was reading in other posts that players in Puerto Rico are having the same issues. 601/401 and unable to buy Crysta.
Crysta is not a failsafe for a large majority of people. First Error 1017 and now 401/601.....SE should see people are at the boiling point.
I live in EU and was able to buy Crysta using PayPal option in Mogstation
Also when you get 601/401 are your bank account charged for 1$ by SE or GlobalCollect ? In my situation I was getting 601 with Visa Electron but registering VISA Electron as VISA on MogStation solved my problem O.o

I have the same problem, i live in Latin America and tried with 6 different cards from 3 countries, including US. I may have a hint of how this works, and is not SE fault, is the partner they choose to provide support and delivering the payment system. I think if we stick together and everyone just submit their tickets to SE Support they will realize that hey have a HUGE problem with their payment system. As you can see, the current GM in this forum states that the current users with this issue is an "small number", but this WILL Increase, and it would be a shame for SE, after ALL this work, losing players for problems with payment systems, a thing not even related to the game.
Lets stick together and SPAM those tickets. Also, twitter and other ways to let know SE supervisors about this problem.
Also, the problem is NOT Global Collect, i used that for another payments and works just fine.

I'm having the same Issue too. I want to renew my sub which In turn runs out In 9 days time. Yet I get the dreaded 601 each time. Any suggestions? it's a Visa electron.
just got an email from them for a ticket i submited over a week ago, told them that i was not able to pay by deibt or credit card and i could not use crysta or ultimate pay because of the region i am in and this is what they replied with.

Please make sure that direct debits are a valid option on your bank card.
Please note, that this issue may be caused by transactions being blocked due to unauthorised payments and/or too many attempts per card number, Square Enix Account or email address on a given day. One bank card cannot be used more than three times per day. If you have made two tries already, we would advise you to not try a third time, as more attempts may cause the issuing bank to block the card in order to prevent suspicious activities.
You may have to wait anywhere from 24 hours to 30 days before trying again depending on how often you attempted to register the bank card before contacting us. Please let us know if you wish to escalate this issue to our head office for further investigation.
In the meantime, you may wish to use either the ClickandBuy service or Square Enix Crysta.

Is this same thing going to happen to all of those whose free trials are still in effect? If so, then it's going to be very interesting to see what happens. It's very disheartening to see how badly this has been handled and to think that they're either going to wait until everyone else can't play to address it, or flatout not do anything at all, makes it even more frustrating.
I'm a new player on a free trial, and my friend pays for my games online. SE keeps giving me the 601 error and every time I contact them they all say the same crap about how theres nothing they can do and how it's a problem with my bank or user error. What a load of crock! all the other MMOs i play can take the card just fine, but you cant? obviously you want my money about as much as I want your half baked, cock and bull, answers! If my free trial expires before they fix this they can count on my friends and I leaving and never coming back.
Well I only have 12 free days left before I have to start paying. I hope they can fix this payment problem before it ends. I really like this game and I just want to play it with no problems for my gaming experience. :(
I've been having both the 401 and 601 errors for over a week. It isn't ANY of my THREE banks. It is YOU, SE. Check your verification system because I think you are LOSING the authorizations in a firewall. Either way, you are missing the authorizations from dozens of banks. Our banks are NOT denying it, your system is. I've been with SE since XI, 1.0 CE, now 2.0 CE. You're making me WANT TO QUIT. I have friends who I convinced to sign up BECAUSE OF THIS GAME. They will drop as well. CHECK YOUR SYSTEMS PLEASE.
They're not going to fix it until they've lost their new players to this issue, and by then they'll be left with a niche game again because no one stuck around.

been a little over a week since i've had this issue. was a 1.0 subscriber as well, was really excited about the re-launch. still want to play but, i'm slowly losing my motivation to want to play.
i think someone should post their conversation with SE support on Kotaku... i'm sure that will get a response, lol.
