You might need to update the bit above. I am pretty sure the chests are 17-17-18-18 or 17-17-18-20 if the two shields drop from turn 5. And the drop ratio isn't 11%. I did the math on my spreadsheet and on turn 1, the left chest items are 7.7% and the right are 25% (and considering 2 right items are DRG, there is a 50% chance of getting DRG from right (and 15% from the left) which is so stupid, but explains why everyone complains about DRG gear.

Oh and the spreadsheet you linked still has helm listed as a t4 drop

It's probably extremely safe to assume that not everyone looked at which side a chest is on the same way. Half of the loot on the right probably is correct, while the other half is meant to be on the left but you have people who look at the chests from a different angle compared to others. The spreadsheet was also only listed because someone else created it and it was easy to look at, however it was rarely updated after the first few weeks and the loot that is incorrectly posted as coming from a certain turn was labeled as such because "a friend of a friend" got it but logged off without it and had no screenshot, in other words they never got it.

Actually I think it is correct. In all the runs I have done, I have only seen those 4 items come from the right chest

It is correct, the right side chest in turn 1 has very few items.

I'll clean up the OP a bit later, and I didn't make that spreadsheet I just linked it to the front page.

Yeah, same for us. We are doing Turns 1-4 for almost 2 months and half of the loot is for mnks. We have almost 2 full mnk sets now. And yes, not a single person in our static playes as mnk ._.

What a sad, sad static :P

I had a very lucky run this week (MNK gloves and feet) but I had been without a solid drop for weeks before then. Someone should take advantage of those drops and gear their MNK. Don't sleep on that MNK DPS!

We are doing this with DRG loot.. It's getting a little bit annoying TBH. While I know much of Turn 5 is skill curve, there still is the bit of gear curve that is needed and we are getting gated by more the Myth tomb cap. This is not how it should be done, we are clearing week after week after week and items drops have been on the high side of useless for us. Just did another 4 turns with two left side items, one of which was DRG and both were repeat items (healer helm being a 3rd.)
With the exception of +1 on the weapons, our BLM and MNK would both have better average item level as DRG then their main jobs.

Same for us with Tank/DRG Gear. While me and the 2nd Tank in my group almost have all Accessories and Body pieces for Tank(both at 6.5kHP w/o food) and our DRG having all Accessories but not one Body piece...out of all kills we got exactly 3 Healer drops, 3 BRD drops and 5 Caster drops...including this week...also 3 of those Caster drops were all Gloves...

We haven't gotten even one Headpiece yet, or Pants, or Feet, or Belt for anything besides 1 Tank feet drop...

PS: All BRD drops were this reset...Gloves and Bracelet in Turn 1...Turn 2 dropped Caster gloves and BRD Earring. Turn 4 dropped Tank Bracelet and DRG Ring.

Allagan Bracelet of Fending (Wall Chest)

Bumping to keep this visible for other players use. Also not that it hasn't dropped yet but Allagan Spear and Bracelets of Maiming from Twintania this week.

SE just aknowledged that loot distribution in Turn 1 is messed up and they are gonna hotfix it next week...I wonder if it will mess up things even more or change loot distribution between turns all together xD

I'd argue for statistics sake we should throw out all data we have for Turn 1 outside of the items that drop from Turn 1 since the actual drops shouldn't change.

Requesting all FCs to post Turn 1 loot after this week.

Some people say they're getting too much tank stuff, repeat caster stuff, and especially too much melee DPS gear.

While my group hasn't seen much repeat gear, there's no denying that I, a Dragoon, have gotten a majority of the loot. But that's because our group composition only involves me as the melee.

Three things:

1.) There's obviously a problem with a facet of the loot system. They've acknowledged there will be a fix next week. This will not solve all of your loot woes.

2.) Tanks/Heals will always fight over loot, but I haven't seen a problem with tank gear dropping. Until SE differentiates WARs from PLDs and WHMs from SCHs, you chose your job.

3.) If you double up on DPS and bring no melee, it's a recipe for loot disaster. If you bring one melee to the group, expect them to double dip on STR gear. If you bring two, loot is fine except for turn 1 imbalance (Getting too many belts, for example).

I've heard numerous reports that there is a 2nd "potion" chest in the trash mob area of Coil turn 1 (other than the one on the east sidepath). Can anyone confirm? Also, I've heard that the coil 1 potion chests have a "very low chance" to drop gear as well. My group tends to get the chest regardless because I like to drink X-ethers during turn 4 but would love a confirmation either way.

Unless by some miracle of a chance the 2 missing shields are in chests(one of them being absolutely worthless anyway) there is no chance there is anything more than potions in any of the trash chests. Someone would have had some kind of confirmation by now showing that you could get something beyond 500g pots, which outside of the few believers who think turn 3 still has something to it even after a mod post saying otherwise there is nothing to these chests.

I thought the same the first time my group saw it drop as it does look quite like a ring. But after seeing it 3 times now I can guarantee that it is nothing more than a bracelet, also the ring had never been a confirmed drop off anything until people started downing turn 5.

I think u can take both caster shields off the list I don't think they put shields in if whm and blm weaps are 2-handed

Well they ARE named differently than the rest of the coil drops, they could be super rare drops from the out of the way chest in turn 3....!

Anyways BLM will just have to go with a HQ Darksteel Buckler until this sheild is found or in the game. BLM has the best allagan weapon by far since it allows that buckler to be used though.

Sorry for the tangent, but I disagree for current content. By going from Stardust +1 to Allagan Scepter/Darksteel Buckler HQ, you're trading a healthy amount of determination, a lot of spell speed, and 3 INT for a lot of accuracy, some crit, and the ability to block. If you forgo all accuracy choices possible in every other slot, you might need it on the Allagan Scepter, but it should be pretty reasonable to mix-and-match Allagan/mythology and get to the current needed accuracy level. Even considering the undiscovered Ancient Buckler, the Allagan Scepter is only an upgrade over Stardust +1 if you need the accuracy.

Oh yes sorry. I don't know why but I thought that the Allagan Scepter had the same amount of INT as Stardust Rod; I guess I hadn't looked at it in a while. So you really need the undiscovered buckler to equal Stardust+1 INT and then you'd need to actually need the accuracy. You're right, I just had it wrong in my head.

1-handed caster weaps always have less stats then their 2-handed counterparts...simply for the reason that you can equip a shield to get to the same stat total.
Otherwise 2-handed caster weaps would always be the inferior choice.

PS: Anyone noticed any difference on Turn 1 so far? My group won't go before saturday since we have a messed up schedule this week on some people.

Hotfix is tonight. My group went ahead and did 1-4 tonight since we've also got some people with messed up schedules this week and Monday is our normal night anyway for 1-4.

Guess what we got from turn 1.

I'll give you one guess.

Hint: Most of the group already has one and no one even uses it.

(At least of our 6 drops, 2 or 3 were new for us and 4 went to mains so it was still a good haul.)
