Now that is perfect revenge to some pretty indecent people. You have my full admiration!
Does revenge make it any better though? Does it make them learn a lesson or just get more frustrated?
I think I've seen too many films to know where this is going...
I try my best to always resolve things are positively as I can. I ask people to take a deep breath, put on some nice relaxing music and observe everything that's happening, because we'll continue until we get it done right.
It's worked some times, but not always.
Add this to your list.
1- take your sweet ass time watching CSs.
2- let loud mouths die often until they leave.
3- never respond no matter what.
The tanking life is the life for me~
The thing these unpleasant DF people don't realise is that the new people will learn. They will get better and being not unpleasant people will find themselves a good fc to run with in time. After a few months the only people left in DF will be these awful trolls, and without any decent people left in there to teach them will be unable to learn the dungeons themselves.
I'm curious if DF hate is just an endgame thing. I've seen nothing but positive players :/
Regardless, I laughed pretty hard reading that
Let's hope you are wrong ;)
And I only say WoW because that is the one place I had the biggest problem with these types of issues. Didn't have this problem in Rift, or in SWTOR. Got MoP to try it out, first dungeon I was put in which was half way done I got tells saying how bad I was. First freaking dungeon, lvl 10! You don't have to do anything but be present to finish it!
Don't even try Amdapor Keep in DF if you don't want to run into jackasses because that's all you get. Nothing but little whiners that quit after one wipe the FFXIV community is one of the best my ass its just the same as every other MMO community with kids trolling chat boxes and everything.
lmao. /10char
That's the biggest problem, when doing events no one says anything or they say something smart like "Just keep mobs off of us" or "keep HP up". You did the right thing, people think because they won't see you again they can act however they want. We did a run and the tank was new it was the level 32 dungeon.
There's always one person who tanks to take the role of leader and say what to do, so I let him do it. Then when he got mad at the tank for not knowing what to do on some things I explained it to him
"He's new, he told you he was new you can either yell at him call him names and we can loose or you can act like the leader you want to be and instruct him and get us a win."
Guess some people forget, not everyone is a 1.0 player or spends 5 a.m. - 3 a.m playing all day.
I thought you were going to say something about reporting and then someone magically disappearing in the middle of the instance but this is a lot better, lol. Best part is that you didn't lower your attitude to their level. Congratulations on your win (more gratifying than those last 5%.)
I feel like I want to make a macro of this- the outspoken angry people CAN be good leaders, if they drop the entitled attitude and try a little patience. Some people really have thick skulls to not realize that 2-3 minutes spent on preparing new people is far, far better than 20-30 minutes spent dying repeatedly or finding a new group. As it is, I think avoiding DF is probably a wise move for those like me who don't appreciate the volatile jacknuts much.
So epic. Fitting of your forum name.
I tip my hat to you sir.
I truly hope they wiped after you left.
Tanks and healers have so much power in a party, that no one seems to remember that if you piss the wrong one off using those classes, chances are you may end up failing/dying. I for sure and one of those people whom, you piss me off with rude and hateful comments, I'm done healing that's for sure.
he doesn't, he's on farmmode right now, and actually on last 5% ppl use 3lvl dps limit break so its even faster. and you have 2 tanks and only need one tank and one stunner, and some dps can stun, like dragoons.
rly, if they wiped after he left its because they are either very bad or were all sleeping
I bow to you sir, best way to destroy the hopes of these idiots lol.
I agree that people in online gaming find it easier to be disrespectful to others. It's a shame because I'm sure in real life most of them would not treat people like that. I always try to be friendly, helpfull and polite. It is a game and we are fighting on the same team. My point in playing is to have fun! Must say that I have also met some really funny and friendly people which make the gaming experience even more fun.
I'm a healer and hate it when tanks and dd's don't exit the damage area when a mob uses an ability and then blame me for not being a good healer and start calling me names. Each one had his role, but it's not because there is a healer in the party that you can just take all the damage and expect the healer to have a limitless mana pool...so now if people do that I warn them in a friendly way, if they take it for granted and die then there is only them to blame.
OP, every part of me loves that you did it, but some of me just reminded me that you are not any better than them as two wrongs don't make a right. The issue is simple, people playing behind a keyboard empowers behavior that isn't controllable. Some days I wish I was playing next to these online bullies as 95% of them I would just beat the crap out of them for being so stupid. It's part of this MMO experience and median.
Bah these guys don't even have any respect for themselves, so why would you expect they have some for others.
They'll be gone in a month.
Awesome!...lol
I was running Copperbell as a GLD. The other 3 members were all in a FC together. I had a THM that would only cast Fire II and Blizzard II and a CNJ that would only use medica. They also kept running ahead of me and pulling the enemies before me. I tried to give them constructive advice.
CNJ said, "STOP TYPING AND JUST DO THE DUNGEON."
THM said, "You aren't supposed to be able to hold hate on all the enemies as a GLD."
The third member, an Arcanist, says, "If the DoT by the enemies name is green, you need to grab it."
I was like, "Yes, I understand how enmity works, but it would be much easier if ______ (THM) would stop AoE spam and ______ (CNJ) would stop only using Medica, as it is the highest enmity building ability a CNJ has. Also, please let me pull hate, before you start attacking stuff."
Then they all started calling me a shitty tank and blamed me when the THM and ACN pulled 6 enemies before I ran in, and then they both died. That's when I left.
Epically done, I salute you.
The way I see it is between GS and Rude people my "Blacklist" will grow rather quickly. I mean this is a Multiplayer game you should help each other out. If you have a bad day at work and want to offend someone you should not be playing a multiplayer game. As for the term "NOOB" this game JUST came out a little over a week ago even 1.0 are noobs on this game. We are all learning the ropes. I will play nice if the party plays nice yeah sometimes sh*t hits the fan but we are here to have fun and enjoy the game not to bring RL attitudes in-game.
Usually, I dont condone this "leave while in the middle of a fight in DF", but THIS sir, I applaud you. THEY HAD THAT COMING. Good for you!
I too have been on the receiving end of people leaving just b/c you say "this is my first time in here". It's so stupid. Yea, like the ones who leave b/c of this CLEARLY were NEVER told how to do it either. They just magically knew when it came time of what to do. Morons.
People like that are just so ... ugh. I've only run into one person (a healer) who was terrible. And I don't mean in the game play since. Apparently she hated the way our tank was tanking (even though we were doing just fine). So she decided to purposely grab a mob and kite the enemy and make us chance her. On top of this, she sabotaged the dungeon by locking us all out of the next area of the dungeon. She wouldn't die nor would she let us go any further. We were forced to leave the instance.
Even though we all get frustrated with people who don't understand what's going on, insulting them doesn't help. Nor does being that drastically rude. I admit that I have cursed at my screen because one person or another was not doing something right. However, I never blurted these out or typed to the person. I hope many don't become like these people were.
This is a sign of the community taking matters into their own hands against the jerks that think they can come to this game with crappy attitudes. Bravo!
I'm a healer and my BF is a tank. We like to run with DPS from our own server to get to know them better. I keep track of good people/players just as much as I do the bad ones with poor or elitist attitudes. While I've heard some really bad stories, I have yet to witness any severe ones first hand. Thank you for posting this. I'll know what to do if we do meet some really bad jerks.
Some people will find any reason to insult others, it's pathetic. Glad you shut them down.
good Job OP :D
i started tanking with my PLD yesterday, did the first few instances (including copperbell mines) and have to say that everything went smooth. One time had to tell a DD with topaz carbuncle to please attack the markey enemys und to PLEASE take away this carbuncle, but that was it. 4 runs till now, 4 nice groups. We will see what future brings. But I never had any issues using the dungeon tool in WoW and I played for several years.
Haha, I do the same shit when I'm solo. The only time I put up with it is if I took friends with me.
This was a story that never happened on reddit like 2 weeks ago. You guys are all naive.
Then they LB3'd it and killed it anyway.
What you should have done, is use the tank LB3 when the nails spawned, then left. That would have guaranteed a wipe. It's impossible to kill those nails without at least the melee LB3. Now THAT would have been showing them the business.
It's not a story, I've done it. Talk to me like trash I'll leave and wait 15 minutes while the dps and healers sit there waiting 40 minutes on a tank for 1 boss. I enter every dungeon respectful and courteous, but if people go off on me for no legit reason, when I'm not even doing badly, yeah I'm out.
True or not, Ifrit 'Hard Mode' is incredibly easy. Really no reason to give players new into the instance any crap like they did. Shame that most people think they are free to act like total ass in Duty Finder since you "might not" see each other again.
Just remember, Karma is a bitch.
