Petition: Magitek Armor Tune

Wow! There sure are a lot of requests for a special magitek armor mount tune!

We let the mount lead know that there were so many requests for this and he mentioned that they would look into whether or not they can get this implemented. :)

(P.S.: I'd like to see this happen too! :p)

The reason they played Terra's theme in that promo video was because it was re-enacting the opening sequence with the credits rolling, where Terra, Biggs and Wedge were traveling in Magitek Armor from that mountain peak to invade Narshe. Terra's theme played during that opening. And I would imagine Terra's theme would be the best pick for the Magitek Armor mount music because of that. It's the first thing I, and many others I'm sure, would think of when thinking of FF6 and Magitek Armor.

What I don't understand is why we blow a horn to call our Coeurl when we receive a bell. Or the Magitek mount for that matter. It's a machine! What, is it like Gizmoduck?

Terra's theme is the only option!

I agree. Some kind of change would be nice.

It was a little disappointing hearing the same music that my Coeurl mount uses, on the Magitek.

Terra's Theme should be easily done, right? XD Come on, don't make us wait to long.

And I agree, Goobue theme should be Rolanberry fields remix? lol ;D Couerl suits the generic Theme IMO.

I also think there's nothing wrong with a little fan service, this IS Final Fantasy after all.

I would love for the Magitek armor tune to change (even though I don't have it yet... :p) - Terra's Theme needs to happen!

I'd additionally sign for an original Coeurl mount theme! (I already signed for Terra's song earlier in the thread)

Can you also please add specific jingles for calling the Coeurl and Magitek if it uses the same as the Goobue? They specified that horn was designed to call him in particular. It's just a sound effect, should be easy to add.

I don't think you quite understand. I know its a reenactment of FF6's opening, but the reason why Terra's theme played in that opening is because one of the riders is Terra.

I don't want Terra's theme playing because it just doesn't fit. Its like asking for Forever Rachel to play everytime someone other than you dies in a dungeon. The music reflects something unique, not something general.

Your first paragraph is correct, but your statement there does NOT go against what Jinketsu said. The issue of the REASON the music is chosen is different of the EMOTION it stirs on players.

You see, we never get to use the Magitek Armor regularly in the game. There are 3 moments IIRC: The beginning, When you meet Cyan, and inside Cyan's head. What happens is that this scene in FFVI that is recreated in that FFXIV teaser is VERY strong. FFVI took a much more serious approach graphics-wise than FFV and FFIV. The instruments tones are more sober and better tuned in general, following their increasing expertise with the SNES, as well as Nobuo's ambition, clearly pushed to the limit in the Opera.

All of that reflects in that omnious opening credits. The dark tones, the emptiness of the snow field, how they talk about Terra.

And then, that beautiful music, the melody of Terra's theme and what is de facto theme of the game, by having it played as the world map theme. It's a remarkable opening.

And it's precisely what gives the strongest link between players and the Magitek Armor. It's the moment we have the best perspective of it trudging across the frozen white wastelands.

So yes, it fits - The best Magitek walk ever is done using that specific song.

And I agree that the Magitek Factory would be a nice choice as well, from another perspective: it fits by being the theme of that thing's "home", their birthplace. We never used them while it plays, but we can imagine it fits. How? The atmosphere it gives.

So, it's a /signed for me too, as useless as it may be.

And by the way, you Rachel analogy is... not good. Rachel wasn't the only dramatic death in FFVI. Forever Rachel reflects one thing. The Opening theme actually reflects the game as a whole. It connects the story.

How Uematsu managed that beautiful music on the Super NES I will never know.

Signed! When I got my Magitek Armor I thought I would heard Terra's Theme or another that fits with the Magitek Armor, but instead of that I heard a totally different song...

I don't think it should be the terra's theme fully. Maybe just the beginning and then its own FFXIV inspired tune.

It's a valid concern, and hard to think of ways to circle around that. I would still prefer the armor actually doing something, though.

Maybe different attacks from those in CM/Pr, more inspired on FFVI's, but nerfed. Think of an equivalent of the Chocobo's power. Maybe even featuring a progression system like Chocobo's, but instead you need to bring stuff to Biggs and Wedge apart from regular experience. Nothing game-breaking, but sufficient to appease.

If it were, we'd hear our characters shout out "Blathering Blatherskite!" instead of blowing a horn.. then again, that would be way cooler than the horn as well.. I vote for "Blathering Blatherskite!" as the Magitek Armor mount sound effect. =P

I'm not for Terra's theme, but I'd like a song from VI. Perhaps something more befitting and less specific to a singular character in such a diverse game. (plus it's very played out, to be honest, it's one of those songs that's been remixed way too many times)

Since we're on the subject of music, let's also return some of the Uematsu songs back into the game? I don't understand why I have to listen to a single battle theme the majority of the game when Uematsu personally wrote a huge suite of them... The new music is great, but hey so was the old music penned by the guy whom I associate with Final Fantasy more than any other person, I want to hear all of it and more.

I don't even have the mount but I agree that it should have the Terra's theme from VI.
