Some suggestions, mostly quality of life, obvious things

Tab targetting should be closest targets only, we shouldn't have to scroll through every enemy.
Proper map zoom so that we can see the lands layout and shouldn't have to click on hyperlinks to see that zone. Easy for navigation.
I too think there should be a better inventory layout, you can easily run out of space before level 20 doing crafts etc boxes should be purchaseable from vendors such as bait boxes etc.

An indicator on minimap quest markers for height, ie above or below my current location, would be awesome.

Let us receive teleport prompt from party member when we are mounted.

Raise lag is getting annoying.

I get a raise, I get up and as soon as I can see my HP bar I get attacked but I still can't move or save myself and I'm dead again. As soon as we're able to be attacked we need to be able to move.

Being actually able to enter and play the game been getting 1017 for hours now :(

This was actually one of the things fixed from 1.0 you used to get traped in character animation and sometimes where unable to move out of deadly attacks. On things like the Ifrit fight it was specially bad if you got animation locked.

I think it's better to be able to move out. as I tank you had to not use long animation attacks like rage of halone when some big breath attack or heavy swing that you had to move out of the way of was off the bosses cooldown.

Aside from a que system to get into the server...
Being able to see my worlds/characters, being able to log in and wait in a que (I wouldn't care if it said hours).
Even better, just let me play the game without randomly dropping me out then saying I can't come back in...
I know the server isn't down, my friend is on it right here next to me watching this disgraceful excuse for a server/log in situation.

Currently at 3 hours (this time, accumulative 12+ hours over the past 3 days) just sitting here constantly trying to log into my server, with no knowledge of how long it'll be, whats happening, if im even in a que, if the server is down or not.

I wish I could watch you guys try to do something you love, you get removed form the building, then they tell you it's too full and try again when a spot opens up...

EDIT: I am taking prescription anxiety medication (Xanax) just to be able to handle this mental torment.

Ability to expand company chest slots. Need a company chest log. Guild UI and options need work. No comments next to character name in guild? Come on run of the mill stuff even crappy Neverwinter had in guild options. Also, rank creation needs work. We need more options to have more than one person with GM power. I can't even set company chest withdraw options on members as an AGM.

Added everything fitting (there were a lot of good suggestions posted that just don't belong here, sorry [faster leves, improvements to duty-finder, etc- make separate threads for this, it's important enough!]) up to here.

The filter button ('x' on keyboard by default) does precisely that. You can customize the filters and everything.

I do believe that would ruin several other features- but if you stop moving for a second (and you have "re-show map when standing still" enabled), one press of M should do it. Or, you just press ESC. I wouldn't mind if that worked obviously, I just don't see how it could without destroying the other good features of the map (such as fading in and out of the map while/by moving and resetting the map without closing it fully, for example)

My suggestion:

Please give benefit to log off, instead of AFK kick. That one will not help, because people will find the way around it to stay afk anyway.

This would be very intuitive, highlight the background of a recipe in green if you currently have the items to make that recipe and also a number of how many you can make.

Please make pets (summons) totally passive when you are on Chocobo, its really annoying when on Chocobo and you are attacked that your pet will defend you and despawn because you go out of range. (in fact I would rather there be two stances in the pet bar, "Attacker" - attack only when player attacks, and "Defender" - attack only when player is attacked)

Please allow us to talk to NPC's and hand in quests whilst on Chocobos, this is standard in almost every MMO since WoW.

I have a few suggestions of my own...

Gameplay
Mounts: I just wanted to add an upvote for Auto-dismounting when talking to NPCs, (as well as attempting to activate gathering nodes, and on combat spell/skill-use).

Combat: Scholars/Summoners/Arcanists:
Make selecting Guard or Steady the default option to return to even after giving the pet instructions.

Allow Macro-inputs for Pets.

Allow the option to Disable auto-use of particular skills for pets.

UI:
Macros: Could you guys please make all hot-bar spell icons available for macros? I noticed quite a few missing from my options that would make my life loads easier.

Party Bar: Could you create an option to show/hide pets in the party bar?

Quests/Map: When mousing-over quests on the map, display the recommended quest level (either in parentheses or in some other fashion).

Personal want: Death Gaze mount.

Regarding debuffs and DoT's on the enemy: Please give us the option to either have your personal DoT's and debuffs always appear at the front of the list or give us an option to make the our personal debuff and DoT icons appearing under the enemies health bar larger and more prominent than the other players.

Otherwise in large group encounters they are constantly yoyo'ing up and down the bar making it hard to watch them, I understand there is a green timer to distinguish between the rest but it really isnt very clear

Proper side by side item compare and not just show me im getting better def/attack.

Cooldown timer for abilities with the option to choose when the timer appears over the icon, for example a skill has 5 seconds till its ready to use again so a countdown from 5 till 0 appears over the icon. This is really for skills that are 30 seconds or more the "clock" style can make it hard to see when its about to be ready.

Party menu options when right clicking the parties frame, im either missing something or its not working and seems odd that it isnt there.

how about the ability to minimize chat and shut off enemy special effects? i could even go for shutting off all shadows...dont get me wrong the game is amazing, aside from the 2002 and 10102 errors but for my pc to handle it, cause aparently in beta i had no issues, for me to fully enjoy it, i need the ability to shut those things off

Completing quests at max level. XP should be converted to gold or something else which is useful at level 50.

- Login queue: The queue should be *much* larger if not indefinite. Constantly trying and being told the world is full is silly.
- Duty List modification: I want to add/remove/sort the list of duties displayed on screen.
- AFK boot: At this point everyone is just leaving their characters logged in 24 hours a day. I know you are working on fixing the servers but this should be a *high* priority

We need more distinctive sound for when duty finder finds a party. It should also be heard when game is minimized (this surely can be done because dota2 works that way).

Please fix your glaring issues with log in and server capacity, before anything else. It's hard to look at other things when you're stuck in the start screen seeing 1017 all day. That would be my suggestion.:D

A way to stop tracking quests but keep them in log.

Here are my issues right now:

No itemization whats so ever. Everything is just simply stat focused and it's not even skewed. There's no procs, nothing interesting, just stats. Heck i'd even be happy if there were weapons that had a stat focus like a bow that had + 10 to crit but nothing else. Something interesting. Every item is simply a slight upgrade from the one before it, even the epics. Where's a spear that lets a dragoon jump further? Where's a bow that increases my song radius? Where's my armor that does damage to surrounding monsters. I need itemization!

No skill/stat customization. As far as I can tell all characters are exactly the same, aside from the small difference from cross skills.

That said this is the most fun i've had in an MMO in years. I love the game and the community is one of the best i've seen. I'll be here for years

These were all mostly likely already mentioned however:
-The ability to Right click names in chat for blacklisting (For the Gil selling spammers)
-The ability to change the pet bar to a vertical one
-Being able to take skills/commands that is for your pet and put them on other hotbars
-A Afk logout (30 minutes should suffice)
-Being able to get into queue for getting into the server within the first 5 attempts. (The 1017 boss needs a nerf)
-Being able to tell what crystals you haven't attuned without having to click them. (sometimes it's obvious when you get to a new area but if you forget to attune on arrival...)
-Gear sets for a character being saved to the account rather then to the system. (it's annoying for people who play at multiple places/systems)
-HUD/hotbar setup for a character being saved to the account rather then to the system.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

Totally minor thing but, in 1.0 you could summon your mount while moving. it was fun to do and really gave a sense of momentum. Please make the Summon Mount action uninterruptible!

Not sure if this has already popped out from someone but im concered about server wide economy. Theres no gold drops from mobs / fates give you little amount etc. As far as i can think only way to make gold (not from other players through market board) is levequest with small amount of gold and this got me thinking where all the money comes from what you can use after while? Gear repairs cost like 3-5k and other minor stuff. And yes i know you can get nice amount of gold from quests but atm it feels like im pretty much done everything unless theres some random hut which i haven discovered.

Also i know that theres something going on someone saying that about 100?? ppl might only be able to kil lbehemoth before next patch comes out but it doesnt mean that we dont get bored with this amount of dungeons?

Thanks to summarize that basics features for a any MMO. We really need this things on FFXIV.

- Hide red circle mark on minimap when last mob die, not when his corpse dispawn.
- Don't block char on NPC dialog, cancel dialog when we go far from NPC.
- Add animations on all debuffs, mainly on stun and freeze debuffs.
- Chocobokeep open map with locations, not a dialog with names.

An optional list view of the inventory like in 1.0 + the option to sort it like -> Weapons - Armour - Consumables and other mats etc.

Yes I can't get in at all now and feel foolish for logging out last night. Not having a queue is horrible. No waiting in line to get in, no... it's just whoever hits that button at the right moment. Yesterday there was a big group of bots farming a FATE escort route, the thought that all those bots are in there and I sit here clicking and hoping drives me nutty.
Then there's the "almost" got in, just to really make me mad. I got in queue at #32, so glad. But then I got bounced back to 1017. (insert rant)

I did the only thing I can do at this point, cancelled my recurring subscription and removed my credit card information. I am angry and frustrated, and it's a game... I know better.
They will have to impress me to make me want to give them any more of my money, right now it isn't happening.

Could devs remove spiritbond bars from items that can't be converted into materias ? + Add Non convertable instead of Binding

MAKE IT SO YOU CAN HOVER OVER FATES ON THE MAP AND CAN SEE THE PROGRESS OF SAID FATE SO THAT YOU DON'T RUN ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE MAP ONLY TO REACH THE FATE AS IT COMPLETES

Gameplay suggestion: For dungeons that have cut scenes for the final boss, do not start cut scenes until AFTER the area is sealed and do not start final battle until there is an indication that everyone is loaded post cut scene.

Being able to purchase a desired count from stacks being sold on the market.

I don't know if this is already in the game, but I need a <mouseui> target macro. I was trying to cure my focus target using this macro:
/ac Cure <mo>
/ac Cure <f>
/ac Cure <me>

but I was curing some random dude standing off to the side cause my mouse was hovering over him. I only want <mo> spells to activate when I am hovering over the actual party list. WoW does this with @mouseoverui

Auto-stacking for the free company chest would be nice aswell.

I think the biggest thing that I would like to see added is the ability to select the sound device. I have to shut down the game to switch from my headset to my speakers. Its so annoying because when you exit you cant get back in because server is full.
