how are u ppl able to cancel order mine says it shipped already and I don't see a cancel option
Are the EA codes and actual game registration codes for the official release the same? Or can I just re-order the basic version from PSN to get a new working code and just keep the CE I already ordered since I can't cancel it because it has been shipped already?
Am I able to preorder from SE, get the correct code and cancel it keeping the code and the money? Technically I'm just getting back what I paid for.

Well, their moronic support refuses to speak up about this issue. If by tomorrow after work this is still not resolved or worse, there is no official word about it, I'll just do the preorder and cancel trick to get it.
Agreed, I really want the physical CE items, but this stress isn't worth it as I really want to play EA. If it's not fixed by tomorrow when I get home I'll just order it off PSN.
I would like to know how are you guys able to cancel the order from digital river I don't see a cancel anywhere and my order shipped already :(
Well I waited over an hour to talk to Live Chat but it got cut short when it came to the fact I was talking about an EU account, the person told me to talk to the EU guys, but my account is set to NA, so they can't even see it's information even if I did try EU live chat, this is absurd,

Whatever you do, don't wait for SE customer service to help you. I've learned that a looooong time ago. You are pretty much on your own in their games.
Either 1) get a new code from the place you bought the game (cancel/reorder) or 2) trade with someone.
Bought a physical copy and it's already been shipped. I dunno if hitting cancel will work for me?
I waited on the phone for almost 4hrs today with SE support and they gave me a NA code! They will need a ticket number that you can get from support.na.square-enix.com. You will need your pre-order code as well. Just make sure to write down the 20-digit code they give you. It says you will need it when you log in to the game the first time. I wouldn't count on them emailing it to you.

I Finally got a reply from SE saying the region code mess was resolved.. So they give me a link to the promotion code site, I made all the precautions needed, even deactivated FFXIV Service in Account Management System, put in my code and what happened? NOTHING! I got the same EU code for like the 8-10th time.. I've been trying to resolve this since day 1.. There's no way to un-register the game once its been done. I'm temped to create an EU Account on my PS3 just to use the code but I'm scared that's going to cause even more problems lol xD Seriously SE, the Whole "Website - Within a Website" thing just isn't working for you lol
Um, yes there is a way. Dont go to the eu site to get the 20 digit code. You have to go to NA so: preorder.na.finalfantasy.com... You have to go to your respected region to get the correct code. People giving you the EU site is just dumb. Most of the ones that are posting it is form the EU part of the world. So all in all you need to be on the NA site to get the correct code.
Also on the phone number there is a toll free and a region number. If your not calling the 1888 number then its not toll free. Find the toll free number and call it. If you are getting long distance charges then you are using a landline. Who uses that any more? In the next 10 years lanline will not be use any more. Its a dieing field.
It's still possible to get charges on a cell, not everyone gets unlimited - especially if they text more than talk. Also if you use a cell, better make sure it's charged and can handle 2-3 hours on hold!

i have been hearing all the problems that everyones been having with this and have waited to do it after getting my first error 3 when i tried it 2 days ago. after reading the twitter page that basically said nothing more then congestion should be relived greatly now, i decided to try it. it worked perfectly no problems. i typed in the code, clicked pc, got my NA early access code on the webpage, within seconds i got the email with the same code, then i went to the website link to redeem the code and that worked perfectly also. im not sure how or why it worked when so many others are having issues but i guess im just posting in case this info is valuable to the rest of you

well I gave up and going to bound my 20 digit on EU instead..
i am haveing the same issue but with me i lived in the UK at when the beta was at registration stages , and now i live in Canada and cant change my region

Don't give up if you pre-ordered PC!
Pick your region> Login> when you get to the screen of typing the code, click where it says language and pick your region (even if its on the correct one). THEN put your code.
If you on PS3, your stuck... call chat support or pre-order the game again for a new code.
i had ordered the NA as i live in NA...
at the time i didnt know it was region specific as i allready have the game downloaded from beta.
but it wont let me register my game... and because i cant change where i live in my SE account
