When you cancel your queue you get dropped and need to queue from the back of the line again. For DPSs and healers this is undesirable but tanks almost always get instant matches so they can simply cancel and re-queue to "shop" for a group in progress. This is usually the case whenever you finally get a full group and someone drops immediately (as Orophin described). So from the DPS or healer perspective, they'll just get constantly matched and dropped until they get a tank that don't mind a fresh run.
What are the "market issues" mentioned in the latest translation? Them saying they will be taking legal action means it's quite serious.
edit: this?
I was wondering...in the last post Rein translated...they mention EX Hotbar...what is that? :o
That's the hotbar you get when you summon your pet as arcanist, scholar, summoner OR the bar you get when you use the cannons inside CM, or when you ride the Magitek Armor mount :)
On the PC version - Mouse & Keyboard settings you can't hide that bar once it pops up or rearrange that bar.
I assigned SHIFT+# keys to use that bar personally, but there are some actions on that bar I don't use or rather have it set up on #1-5... but anyways this specific post just mentions to show/hide option being available in 2.1. I guess some don't even use the semi-order option and just let the pet do the actions on it's own? Dunno how good that is in end-game content. I'm still Lv32 on Arcanist/Summoner/Scholar so haven't used it in party, but I use positioning action and semi-order to stun with ifrit and stuff to play around and learn. Guess I'm doing it wrong? lol
So the latest translation done on 11/12 mentioned vanity slots and how they are planned. Does this mean they listened to people and it's planned for 2.1 or just planned in general?
Doesn't say 2.1 in that Minagawa-san's post so I'm going with the previous dev/rep post stating 'post' 2.1.
I really want it in 2.1 though... I miss my subligar... I don't like putting on extra clothing on top of the subligar to hide it's awesomeness.
Also, I was asked if this was going to be more like GW2's style with transmutation since dev post says no gear window.
So I went ahead and asked that, although I'm thinking it's most likely going to be where you can still keep the original gear and it's just going to copy the graphics on top of the equipped gear without losing the gear like you do with transmutation. That post I made is here http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post1552472
Ya......they're giving us Lightning's set and all these weapons while making them lvl 13....no ones going to use those things unless they're sitting in town or there's vanity slots. Now the restrictions they mentioned will probably be for swimsuits and holiday events since that's usually a restriction in most mmos with a vanity tab, but even then there's so much gear that only seems to have use with vanity slots.
So here is a serious solution:
1. the first thing that needs to be done is to extend blacklisting and friending into dungeons to make it so people can run with better groups altogether.
2. a pre blacklist check must be put in place in duty finder. This check would prevent a group that took advantage of players from doing so a second time. Only if you passed the pre-requisite blacklist check can you enter a dungeon and then its up to you to prove your worth. (similar to the gear check idea but even if you solve the gear problem you have still not solved anything socially.)
Also if kicked you can blacklist the group you were in just incase because the big AFK is happening because duty finder is throwing people together who hate each other for whatever reason. U have to keep some people separated and give them space or no one gets along. Allowing voting or any politics in MMO is never the answer.
The fact is allowing a political answer like voting is not the answer. And mostly because this is dungeon related we should extend blacklist and friending into dungeon. The programmers want to be lazy and use WoW ideas that never worked is just idiotic. A Blacklist check to be implemented would allow people to blacklist each other and then duty finder would check each group and 3of3 you do not join the group. You then wait and if you are not a jerk next group will take you. The facts with AFK more than not it is the fault of random duty finder that throws people together who do not get along. Noobs and decent players do not stand a chance of argument with these people so lets separate the groups somehow and force them either into their own heaven or hell. But to just hand over power and control to the players and then let them police them selves is a system doomed to failed . And to anyone who says they have seen it work well.. Uh BLIZZARD TROLL comes to mind.
Lies! :p
Just undertaking such a task (live translating) seems heroic to me. It's also the only reason I watch the LIVE presentations. Without it, they're like a party I'm not invited to. Highly sanitized Q&A summaries after-the-fact by the "professionals" are not at all the same. IMHO.Quote:
so don't expect anything professional
I took it as an excuse to level up my lowest level DoW (PGL) ;)
One thing SE could do would be to only allow unique+untradable pieces to be used for vanity (that is, all non-crafted non-sastasha green items, blue/purple items and event items), and if they want to be mean about it and make you put some effort into it they could also require that the vanity piece is 100% spiritbond before equipping :)
But yes, really hoping they don't restrict it only to some tiny list of event gear. Also, hoping that whoever designed Brayflox's sets designs more.
Didn't see anyone talking about this. But its great news that they want to give us at least one more retainer if I read this answer right:
Q16: The amount of items will increase, but I’m having inventory problems with my current items. Will you be doing anything about the amount of inventory space?
A16: The additional retainer service couldn't make it in time for patch 2.1, so we will be increasing the amount of items that can be stored in the Armoire.
Too bad it didn't make it for 2.1
I wouldn't mind if the third retainer only stored items and you couldn't use it to sell stuff. I wish all untradable and non-convertible items could be stored in the Armoire.
I don't know that they said "give". Version 1 had a plan to sell extra retainers at $1/month. Plus SE is calling this a "service".
Of course as with both RL and MMOs, your things always expand to fill all your storage space. Increasing space means management becomes more important. Otherwise you have the same stackable items on multiple retainers and even on multiple inventory pages on one retainer, taking up multiple slots instead of just one.
Oh, didn't interpret that "service" part as being something that you need to pay for with real life money. I hope it isn't and it just has a gil cost.
No wonder they won't let us mule stuff between characters if they want to have us paying for extra retainers.
Are you going to consolidate the stuff posted on Twitter into one place Rein, like a google doc or something? I saw someone started a thread, but didn't know if you were going to do anything personally. I know sometimes you translate the whole articles.
Can translate the whole thing but gonna take a while like usual, might be better with this stuff which just goes over the main good stuff.
I can try translate whole stuff if people want all the small details, but gonna take a while lol. Got way too much stuff going on here at work and home busy with all the christmas stuff right now.
http://omedon.tumblr.com/post/689910...erview-details grabbed all my tweets and put it in one article, I'll try and post one of my own on the forums. Have to go back and grab all my tweets lol.
Yeah I don't really use Twitter so it sucks for me. First world problems I know. :P
No rush on the translations or anything if you plan on doing them. Just wanted to see all the info in one spot. Thanks. :)
Reinheart pls translate this!

Yep read it, this is first half of the interview, they are going to post the 2nd half of the interview another day.
First half basically covers the current game and what was talked in the 10th producer letter live about the job balance.
New information from here was for treasure hunt and beastmen daily quest.
I'll translate the whole thing, hopefully can do it tomorrow, today was hell at work... dunno what is going on at work... normally around this season it's super super super slow... ><
Treasure Hunter can be played from lv30
Grade 1-3 can be soloed, Grade 4 can be soloed but probably will need level 50 and some player skill, Grade 5 is meant to have 4-6 player party for difficulty, some will spawn 1 mob, some will spawn multiple.
Beastmen Daily will give items you can only obtain from those beastmen tribes, also will offer a feature where you can purchase from them as well.
Beastmen tribes will be in a different location other than the current existing forts as those areas only have 'tempered' beastmen.
reiny dear~
can you please
update this doc?
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...rive_web#gid=0
Can, what kind of stuff did you want me to put in there? Anything specific?
I need to fix up the format... I noticed lots of JP players use that doc also but I don't think it's as organized as I wanted it to be... I'm open to any suggestions to improve that doc.
You need to stop beating yourself up over your translations. They're fine and its great that you're able to update us so quickly, even if you can be wrong sometimes.
There wasn't a test live letter this time?
There was, here's the video links I got from Sili from twitter - http://t.co/HpE4vgZQyl and http://t.co/bCSCH83c0W
They basically testing in first part, on the 2nd video Soken shows his working environment how the sound is being checked and shows the program (gets scolded by YoshiP afterwards)
YoshiP brings some chicken Soken likes (Karaage-kun) this time and they were eating during the broadcast. YoshiP also answered some questions that's really not for actual live, stuff like do you prefer food A or food B.
He also mentions that they decided on the new race, and the art is being worked on (he doesn't go into anything else regarding that one, no dates, nothing)
Thanks for the update.
Personally I'd like to see the Viera, but I don't want it to be a female only race like (I think) Yoshi said it would have to be. Gria would be pretty nice too.
I wouldn't like a beastial race though, I much prefer races that closely resemble humans than stuff like Bangaa.
google doc doko-ne?
"Yoshida: Im sure it’s much different when comparing to FFXI. Even Guild Wars 2 at release timing people capped at 36 hours, and on average was about 47 hours. In current generation having a story driven RPG without being side tracked taking 50 hours is long. I personally feel that’s too much, if it’s me my direction would be like Call of Duty with story for 6 to 9 hours, but has a lot of stuff put into it. To me I think that’s enough."
Ok Yoshi-P, I like what you're doing with FFXIV, but don't ever make an offline RPG where it only takes 6 to 9 hours to finish the story...
