Global Alpha Test Start Date

BUT I'M TOO EXCITED TO SLEEP!

Just a little bit of random info.... The old tester website still has a DNS record, but the server isn't online.

That would be sad, since there is a 2-day waiting period between the notifications and the actual Alpha. Also the acceptances carry through til Open Beta.

Wouldn't that be irrelevant since there are already JP players testing the game?

I wonder if we can download the client as soon as we get the invite. I'd like to have it all set up and ready to go in advance.

Probably, that's how it worked in 1.0 alpha.

Should, I'm just glad that updates i don't have to do it by tethering my cell-phone cause of port-blocks by the university like i had to 1st time lol

They are thinking of people with alpha invites to be brought to phase1 beta too, but it's not set in stone yet.

Lol my university never blocked FFXIV ports, I downloaded patches all the time in the Library.

I hope people realize that staying up to to see if you got your e-mails is kinda pointless due to the fact you can't play for another 2 days! :P.

Not true =P I'm pretty sure I'll sleep like a log. While I'm excited for alpha testing invitations, I'm more concerned about staying on my feet for work tomorrow hahaha.

I don't get the joys of sleep anyway... :( So this makes a nice change from having to stay up til 7am with bad coffee and paperwork! haha

OK so when exactly did Yoshi decide that testers could be chosen regardless of their account status? I see people swearing by it.

I don't know, I just find it funny people won't admit they're excited to play despite yoshi himself said alpha isn't playing, never seen anyone this excited to test things and write elaborate reports down to the potential loop causing an error before. :3

I just happen to have off tomorrow. Usually that means its time for some maintenance - maybe this time my luck will be different :P

It would be an honor to walk around finding bugs! :D

cant wait to see how the game is running and if im lucky to enter i will do the best i can, to find any bug that is gonna effect the game when it release! ^.^

Anyone else feeling Charlie and the Chocolate Factory right now?

I just have to say, of course I would be excited to play the game. Bugs and other things will pop up if, and whenever they do, that is when to report, but you cannot report bugs or provide feedback if you can't enjoy your time playing the game.

I'm telling you Invites won't be at the stroke of Midnight XD! ( Perhaps it will) but I don't see that happening :P anyways 48 mins till East Cost 12am :P. If anything it will be PST cuz that's normally when they send or implement new patches. Always PST. So, it won't be for a few hours yet. :P. If your going the F5 bomb your Keyboard at least wait for the right time! :P

They did not specify any time
it is already 1:30pm in Japan so we are 26th here already for a while and I did not get any mail so don't think something will pop up when you reach midnight

I think Yoshida is going to send mine via UPS. It's gonna have a watermark and everything... Hopefully it'll smell of perfume as well.

Im thinking midnight-3am Pacific on Nov 27th. At the earliest.

If you feel entitled to be an alpha tester for any reason...DON'T. If you're at all analytical by nature you'll have evaluated / analyzed the questions in the application. It's very interesting what questions they chose to ask. Some of the most valuable candidates will indeed be overlooked!
