End of an Era Trailer

I'm not a fan of trailers usually.. but whoa, that was the single best trailer I've ever seen in any game. Epic.

He may have teleported us, leaving us in an area unscathed from Bahamut's wrath. If he did send us forward in time, it would explain the 'realm reborn'. While EPIC from the very beginning, it really started hitting me emotionally when I saw Y'shtola, Thancred, Papalymo and Yda praying. The Louisoix smile at the end simply sealed the deal. I really hope that the many NPCs I've grown so fond of live on in ARR... While we know that Minfilia will reappear, I hope it's not case of everyone died and ARR is a "new alternate reality" that the aether/crystal creates. Then even if Y'shtola lived on, it wouldn't be the Y'shtola that I know and love T.T And Merlwyb... and Cid... and Louisoix... and... AHHHH HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO WAIT TILL A REALM REBORN NOW? hell, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO SLEEP TONIGHT WITH ALL THIS ADRENALINE???

I had my mom watch the video. She loves FF CG's. She has never played the game, no emotional connection to the characters, cities or lands. When I asked her what she thought of it, she was trying to hold back tears and said "good, but it was kind of sad." SE did an awesome job with this.

I always thought that Thancred, Ysht'ola, Yda, Papalymo, Louisoix, and Urainger were all Archons of the Twelve, and that Archons were basically the incarnation of the twelve.

Yeah, I hope the characters that i've grown to know and love make it through to 2.0 as well, it'd be a shame to see them go. Especially the lalafell twins, those guys are awesome lol.

Louisoix, Urianger, Y'Shtola, Yda, Papalymo and Thancred all belong to an Organization called "The Circle of Knowing", this organization consists of Archons.

All the Members of the Circle of Knowing has the Tatoo on their neck (yes, every one of them).

Archons are Incarnations of the Twelve's being in the form of Mortals.

Louisoix is seen to be the Archon of Thaliak, where he says his deity is Thaliak, and his staff has Thaliak's Sigil engraved to it.

Urianger is believed to be the Archon of Rhalgr, "He is most often depicted as a magi carrying a staff of bronze."

However, The Twelve reincarnates countless times, therefore, each incarnations may be different.

Which explain why ARR primal fight will be different

What a rollercoaster of emotions. First the frustration of the final event and then this. It's probably the best CGI movie clip I've ever seen. The creators have all my awe and admiration. Talk about capturing the emotion perfectly.

I have a feeling they will kill all of our favorite 1.0 characters... meaning the circle of knowing, GC leaders, etc

really a sad thought, but it would make 1.0 a truly unique experience i personally won't forget

I bet Cid survived though

We still got to watch the 2nd part too when they wake up and look at the new world ..i hope we get it soon lol btw where was Urianger? i don't see him praying also the 5 adventurers so shit their pants as they watched Bahamut fly around blowing up everything xD someone said they are the same as the very first intro? with different jobs tho there was no Mi'qote

That moment of hopelessness when you watch Bahamut Stream by with the fireballs just crashing into everything. It happens so fast you just left going D-= and then he breaks free of the sealing technique of the twelves gods and THEN you're just like ( ) - = .... f.it all we're going to die.

Great trailer but SE was never a slouch when it came to CGI trailers.

Anyone else get Epic Tank Wood when they saw PLD and WAR fighting together in the same scene?

I think this replaces Crisis Core's Sephiroth vs. Angeal and Genesis as my favorite FF cutscene of all time.

Have You noticed even that Louisoix when Teleport all use the Althyk Signet? maybe he is more than a simply archon?

That gave me goosebumps!! I can't believe it's over... T.T

Being here since Open Beta it really hit me hard that its over.

Speechless... just too good o_o! /highfive Yoshi-P and everyone working on this, best ending of a game ever(even if its not really the end)...
2 years of gaming in this world that I loved, and hated at times... It's still hard to see it go away, but what an epic ending.

What I don't understand though: If Bahamut goes around rampaging without hindrance and can destroy a city in mere minutes how can there even be a world in 2.0? I mean if he is mighty enough to wipe out Eorzea and those who should stop him can't do so...then why is it logical that the cities survive? Can you build up a city STATE to such an extent when probably (almost) everyone should have fallen victim to Bahamut, not to speak of resources...
(He wasn't even close to the cities and still Bahamut damaged them severely with just one meteor shot.)
If chars like Minfilia or Gaius van Balsear (seen on the official website) survive, why do we need all this special magic and Loisoux dying...

The only thing I can imagine is that he runs out of aether, disappears hence and needs to regenerate a few years. But that on the other hand would leave Eorzea devastated as well as it needs aether to survive and if Bahamut has sucked all up... :/

Ishgard? Would be my guess that they come rolling in at their own pace and Bahamut retreats to his place (With his dragons) to rest.

My speculation is simple. The reason he warps everyone out of there is simply because he has one FINAL trick up his sleeve. But it requires everyone to move away from the zone or perhaps he sends us in the future because he knows whatever he has in mind will wear off by then. And leaves it up to us to take care of it when that time comes. I'm guessing he will use his own life to seal Bahamut in some fashion away. Or perhaps take his aether away as suggested by Loggos.

This would be my response as well.

Bahamut is raging, destroying all. The only thing left to even remotely repel his rage would be the Dragon Knights themselves. Ishgard is a major power that has been put into play.

Glorious. If that was simply a herald of things to come... A Realm Reborn will blow everything out of the water. I am HYPED! BRING ON THAT BETA!

I haven't cried like that in a cutscene since end of CoP. The look on the Lala-Whm's face.. the feeling of "alright /pray did work" to get slapped back at me in failure... and of course Louisoix was the biggest deal breaker. :'(

Did want to get a tattoo of Dalamud but now I kno what I really want now.

I honestly can't say anything different from what has already been said about this trailer. This is the quality I expect from SE, and it's why I always look forward to their new games. It's the winning moments like this that make them the best company in the business, imo. I had faith in the Twelve and they did try to assist us, it was just too late, like Nael van Darnus proclaimed. A truly sad ending, but a hopeful new beginning in the same. Final Fantasy at it's best.
