We've been given a critical mission: to sneak into Castrum Novum, and there destroy the lunar transmitter that pulls Dalamud ever closer.
We kept to the shadows when we could, fought when we had no other choice - and now, after what seems like days, we've found the target.
I can hear the imperials' hounds... the shouts of men are drawing closer! Live or die, the moment is now!

It has come to my attention that my original entry into this contest didn't meet all the contest rules. I had neglected to include my character in the shot. So here is my second entry, that should meet all the rules... ( I like the first one better though D: )

The dodo's came from the north, and in their fury...just kidding... a bunch of dodo's fled to Uldah one day. Adventurers were slaughtering them by the droves, so what do I do? I adopted one as a pet! That was at least until one adventurer caught wise to the whole thing and brought his buddies over to finish the poor guy off. There should be a law against that...sad day indeed.

Of all the tales I could tell of the early days of Eorza, my heart returns to my apprenticeship as an alchemist. I had big dreams of creating alchemical masterpieces. I worked hard at my craft. As I worked I found I needed crystals for my formulas and that these could be had by fishing. So I worked on fishing. Soon I needed supplies I could only get by gathering or mining, so I did that. I found myself wandering all of Eorza developing skills in wizardry and battle. I never did become a master alchemist, but I had a wonderful life.

My WAR AF (Cutter's Cry) run suddenly turned into a full run.
BRD: Hey, let's give our new WHM a peek at Princess!
Problem was... we only had 7 members in the party.
During Princess, our BRD went to get her (he forgot he did not have WAR HP) and died at the bottom so the mages didn't have Ballad for the good part of that fight. By some miracle, we somehow defeated Princess.
BRD: Hey, let's go to Chimera now!
So off to Chimera we went.
BLM: What?? We're serious about this?
As you can see, Chimera is roughly 40% in the screenshot above. We got him down to ~12%, and would've gotten a 7-man CC win if one of our WHMs didn't forget that it was the other WHM's very first time in that dungeon... and if he didn't try to change into nuking gear (w/o macro). Fun times had by all, and I hope we'll continue to be random like this in 2.0.

I didn't think that my best memories were at the end of Eorzea but it turns out they are. Many people couldn't give up playing even if everything they did wasn't saved. It shows true commitment from dedicated fans. I chose this picture for many reasons. Everyone is fighting together and enjoying their last days. Also, because I am using my first level 50 class and using the most beautiful weapon skill ever!

GAWD! It was so hard to choose just one!! T_T This was my first favorite screenshot. Ultimately, this one only won because it was the closest to the required dimensions, that looked good. Or else I might have gone with my pirate by the wheel in front of Dalamud.

This is definitely one of my most memorable moments in FFXIV. I spent an awful lot of time dead while trying to defeat that pesky white raven... Throughgh every fail, and every Megaflare party wiipe, I still had a tremendous amount of fun! Keep up the good work FF team. I'm very proud of you. : )

Onslaught's Ifrit Drinking Game
http://static2.finalfantasyxiv.com/a...VFz9GJVMQo.jpg
What better way to bond with your fellow shell mates than to drink while fighting Ifrit? Rules are simple; drink every time he jumps!
We all hang out in Ventrilo voice chat too, which makes things even more amusing!
Anyways, this is just one of the countless games that we've done since Iffy was implemented. It's been such a hit that sometimes we have multiple parties going in at the same time... Drink even when the other one jumps! Hehehe :D

Many of my best memories from XIV were with a linkshell known as Sanctus Refero. Here, a few of us bravely (or foolishly) took on Cassiopeia Hollow.
If I remember right, we were victorious, though my conjurer skills were definitely lacking at the time!
-
When FFXIV first launched, one of the first things my linkshell did was go exploring. We immediately set out for Ishgard, having already seen screenshots of the towering city and wanting to experience it for ourselves. After we satisfied our curiosity in Coerthas, we began the long trek to Mor Dhona, when I took this screenshot of the sun rising over the mountains. For me, it represents the awe of adventures that were out there waiting for us.
-
When Dalamud started coming down, my two friends and I noticed a couple things that would be perfect for a screen shot.
So we tried to capture as much of this era in one screen shot, and had fun trying to make it.
Us in our Grand Company Gear + GC Weapons + Mor Dhona + Imperial Air ships + Dalamud itself.

I've always been a soloist at heart, though I've had a few linkshells in the two years I've enjoyed on the game. However, this scene is my most memorable, and I shared it with myself. I was in Mor Dhona by myself for a mission to collect information on the downed airship. To my surprise, I found the best place to enjoy a quiet evening, given you like a more dreary evening. ;) This castle, or tower, is the most beautiful sight in Eorzea, and it'll stay a long lasting memory watching the night and storming sky surrounding it.

It all started with the rumors of a legend. We followed the rumors to a small forged in the Black Shroud where we found a smith with legendary knowledge. To bring this knowledge into material we needed materials. It started off by fending off the hamlets against swarms and swarms of enemies collecting seals. Raiding beastmen camps and wounding their leaders. Then we had to slave over the hot forges and workbenches for hours melding and fine tuning our weapons to be worthy of the legendary status. But we fell short on key ores and salts. So obtain these materials we had to dash through the poison pits of Aurum Vale and slick sands of Cutter's Cry swiftly taking down all those who stood between us and our materials guarded by strong fiends. Finally we could return to the forges and resume work on our weapons.
But alas! we had run into a dead end. Until we found a woman named Rowena, who was rumored to hold key information on the Relic process. In exchange for her priceless information though we had to collect items for her. A cursed book in the depths of the Imperial's Dzemael Darkhold, an Allagan Band carried by strong monsters attacking Aetherite Camps, An Oschon's Finger Charm for safely delivering precious Caravan goods to the Hamlets, and a large sum of beastcoins. After doing her bidding we returned to the forges with the knowledge needed to finish the design of these legendary weapons.
Finally our hard work took shape into bizarre forums, these weapons were unproven and appeared to be dull. That is when the forge master told us we had only materially forged the weapons, now we had to finish the forging process so that our souls were one with the weapon. So we set off the the beast camps where we thinned the ranks of the beastmen until the soul-binding process was complete and we could return to the forge. Upon returning from our hard fought battles we had learned that the battle had only begun. The next few tasks we were handed could only be completed by true warriors who had the vitality to endure the tough passage ahead.
Each of us we were told to go follow the legend of our weapons and relive the events that started the legend. So to the far reaches of Eorzea we fought and traveled reliving the lives of the men and women and their legendary deeds. Once we had each traveled our paths we regrouped in the Gusty cliffs near Camp Dragonhead to peruse the final step of our journey. There we found the rare Primal Gaurda, we engaged her and through the tempering of our journeys we swiftly defeated her, taking one of her treasured plumes. Then it was off to the vallies of Thanalan to the cloister of Ifrit. There we faced our most daunting task, defeating the king of the inferno. Many times we were pushed back in battle, but we had come to far to give up! Finally after what seemed like the thousandth try we finally found and opening and took down Ifirt with a devastating combo. Each of us taking a Nail from the beast we returned the the forges, where the essence from the Primals was taken and the forge master put the finishing touches on each of our weapons. Finally after months of hard work and dedication we had achieved legendary status!
So to celebrate our new found power we ransacked our way through the Kobold Camp to plunder the numerous riches of their treasure room and that is where we took this memorable picture, with our treasures in hand, surrounded by gold.

Getting Everyone to stand still for a photo was the hardest part of Final Fantasy, and everything was going fine until i felt the great wind of victory upon my back!
To Future adventures and friends we've forged and lost in the fray May we all cherish these memories and cultivate new ones in the new Eorzea.

There was this one time, shortly after the spring love-love event, where I was wandering through the planes of La Noscea, and I took a break to eat a piece of cake. Little did I know that I would have a very Alice experience and grow to 20 times my size.
Gobbues looked up to me and passing Roegadyns finally knew how the lalafel's felt, but I wasn't concerned with such insignificant bugs crawling oft my feet.
I only had 30 minutes before the cake would wear out, and I could not trust that another piece would result in a similar effect, so I took the opportunity to re-decorate the landscape.
And for the record, The Cake is a Lie.

There are so many wonderful memories that it's hard to pick just one. Visually, this is my favorite screenshot. When the Atomos event first came out, we were very good at crashing part of the server (Everlakes).. It made for a lot of grumbles but the server lag created a wonderful opportunity for amazing shots of the server working together for a common goal. It was my first time being able to work with so many people and one I won't soon forget. ^.^
